Thats because Abbott doesn't want people to think about the budget emergency, the drought, the crumbling economy.

Because he and his mob are a pack of economic illiterates.

It's all a diversion from the real economic crisis we are facing
since only a handful have come here:

One million Syrian refugees registered in Lebanon, UN says

Refugee agency describes figure as devastating milestone for a country already stretched to breaking point.

I guess Abbott is just providing an update on his successful boat policy, after all he was elected in a land slide on the back of a promise to stop the boats.

Job done.  Smiley

Perhaps if Swan hadn't sent the country broke and drowned it with debt, we could afford to take in some Syrian refugees? Abbott is right to close the doors. We still have our regular refugee intake - we just aren't taking in any more than that. The left would have you believe we've stopped taking all people from anywhere under Abbott when that couldn't be further from the truth. The left simply attack Abbott because he is putting Australians first, as he should.

He's trying to convince us that paying the people smugglers was the right thing to do.

He's an embarrassment.

Drought effects regional and rural communities . What's abbott doing to assist them. Perhaps the billion plus spent on overseas gulags for refugees could be redirected.

Invest the billion plus a years into these communities in return they house the refugees.

How is it successful when he is still paying people smugglers to go back to indonesia before making another trip to oz.

This is economic illiteracy.
Oh that's right, we are discussing abbott.

Greens just supported the retraction of a small portion of the Howard government mistakes. Pensions for the filthy rich.

I change the station, or hit 'mute' every time he comes on.

This regime has NOTHING to say that I'm interested in hearing.

Apart, that is, for that POS Abbott conceding defeat after the next election.

He deserves the same fate as Howard (but more-so), losing both the Prime Ministership AND his seat.
