Love my team....

......but think the Tigers and Saints songs are better.

Do you know the history of the song, & where the tune came from?

I know in the USA it's a very, very popular college football victory march for almost 100 years. Smiley

I googled.....yep Panther, the tune is the Notre Dame Victory March written in 1908 by the Shea Brothers.

Previously, the Swans song was an adaptation of Gene Autrey's "Springtime in the Rockies".  In 1961, the club decided it wanted something more robust and it was changed to what we now have.

...

Amazing, with all the talent here in Australia, why don't we compose our own tunes instead of 'borrowing' tunes from America?

So far I know of 8 Footy Clubs that have used American Tunes for their Club Songs.

Are there more?

How many of the 8 can you, without GOOGLEing, name along with their American names they are known by?

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)
