no, but then again, I didn't think Lindy Chamberlain had grounds to appeal either.

Yes but you're referring to a case which took place in 1980.

35 yrs on....investigative practices and procedures have changed dramatically within criminology, forensic science etc.

it wouldn't be the first time someone everything was sure was guilty turned out to be innocent. Our legal process works the way it does for a reason. Sure, it sucks to know that scum like that get to waste tax dollars, but change the system and we become no better than half of the despot nations we criticise for their crappy justice systems.
Prisons full of innocent people, just ask them. they  are all innocent. see anyhthing here which actually points to his innocence?
grounds including potential prejudicial media during the trial and that police improperly obtained a confession.

It has already been established that this did not occur.

In any event, these issues are NOT at the heart of the appeal.

well yes they were Lisa. They were the grounds of his appeal. And btw, I hate to say it, it Aussie is dead right about the parole board.

Did you not read what I just posted?

These issues are NOT at the HEART of the appeal.

Oh and I don't care what Aussie produces from Professor Google regarding the Parole Board.

Why?

It's totally irrelevant.

The problem is..he hasn't realised it yet despite being given clues and despite being spoon fed by me.

Yes it sucks someone using the justice system that is a right in this country.

Not using it .. but abusing it.

And yeah it sucks. BIG TIME.

This 'Appeals' nonsense is mostly in the nature of Legal Luvvies trying to frustrate what they see as 'fascist' laws being carried out on those who have been found guilty in our courts of law.

The luvvie pro bono lawyers kept the appeals process going for years on behalf of getting boat-people in our detention centres accepted for citizenship.

Hmmm it MAY be viewed that way.

Look up "due process" and remember this : it can be a 2 edged sword.

Excellent article..esp the latter part.

Due process is a wonderful thing ...and this child rapist and murderer will get a full doze of it in the High Court.
