12V Compressors
Apr 28th, 2015 at 9:25pm

I bought a Ryobi compressor for my 4WD, mainly because I have a few garden tools which use the One 18V batteries.

The low pressure side still works.  The high pressure side failed after reinflating two tires. It just burnt itself out.

Why do they even sell these toys? (and why did I buy it?)

I'll get a decent ARB compressor installed soon, but in the meantime I use a double cylinder foot pump.  At least I get some exercise.

how long have you had it? regardless of what they tell you about warranty, if it's relatively new, you can take it back as it's 'not fit' for it's purpose.

I have had the toy plug into the cigarette lighter compressors and they have been fantastic.
Even pumped up big tractor tyres.

Ok Mike, No hurry.  I found an article on the net about these toy compressors. The problem is that they overheat and parts melt.

I'll stick with my ARB unit for now.
