I would go, except I'm afraid I would be kidnapped by soccer clubs to teach them how to play soccer at a professional international standard.

When I first arrived in Sydney's migrant factories from God's Own Country back in '61 (or was it '62?) - I was the only Pom or Australian amongst the Ethnic hordes. Being English - they all assumed I must be super-proficient with a soccer ball. Truth was, having arrived in the UK from China I had no interest in any field sport whatsoever. 

But I kept this quiet. I promised I would coach them one day during the holidays. 

When the years passed and they eventually realised I had not the slightest interest in The World Game - they damn near lynched me. What could I say except ... 

My niece was sounding me out the other day to go for a trip with her, but I'm strictly a home-body nowadays. Spaghetti out of a tin is the closest I get to Mama Italia nowadays.
