Let me guess, to be a great political party in your eyes, a party needs to 'me too' to all lib lab policies?

Like lib and lab do to each other.

no, to be a great party the party needs to try to do what is best for all the people of the country they represent , not just the cows and flowers.

Keeping climate within a human civilisation zone isn't.

Lib and Lab have policies to kill off humanity. That's not the policies of great parties, thats policies designed for interest groups that donate to lib lab and are to the detriment of all.

keeping climate within acceptable levels is great, but in the meantime people have to live. With the greens it's worry about climate and screw the people

The Greens should stick to what they're about, which is the environment. When they start getting involved in other areas, like defence, for example, they look like a pack of clowns.

Areas overlap and to pretend they don't makes you look a little foolish.

You can't defend Australia against wars induced by climate change while being one of the biggest polluters per capita.

Either we create climate wars and be prepared to cripple our economy to defend ourselves.

Or we defend ourselves now by working on a solution so to avoid those climate wars.

People will not live in the future climate we are currently creating.

Be it 20, 100, 200 years, we will be extinct.

A balanced budget within 20 years, or the existence of humans in 20 years?

Which is more important?

I'm all for the cessation of using coal for our energy needs. However, there needs to be a reliable, cost-effective alternative in place that has been well and truly tested before we stop using coal. Any other course of action is simply reckless and irresponsible, as the Greens have proven to be time and time again.

WHY?... do you not think that all the millions of years the world created all this for man to find and use to his best ability...should now be left for what purpose..no one knows????>......seems to me everything has a purpose...

if we hadnt discovered coal we would have burnt all the trees...instead....ships sailed the world thanks to coal...

we have to be practical....

if the greens had their way there would be no mining...

what about gold and diamonds and all that glitters... all comes out of the ground...funny how they are so selective...

the greens dont think outside of the box.....I am sure all those people who work in the coal industry for starters in NSW are now living on the edge thanks to these ding backs who have no regard for working people...lets see those idiots that come up with these policies lose their seats and be out of work... Angry Angry

Feeding them a big plate of coal?

It's not a choice between what's on the table today. It's about restructuring so we are around in 20 years.

Are you happy for your family to be the last generation of the monkey era?

This is not about today. The Greens are not calling for the closer of the coal industry today ... it's closure ASAP.

This is about planning for tomorrow so to avoid the extinction of the human race due to an uninhabitable climate.

An uninhabitable climate for humanity that both old parties are embracing.

Greens have claimed the territory of hope and prosperity of the human race ... Lab Lib have claimed the territory of war and extinction.

The issues are not the export of coal per se... rather...

> the investment process and the long-term benefits or lack thereof to Australia

> effects on non-renewable natural treasures such as the GBR

> long term effects on the environment due to increased pollution

> the lack of genuine tax revenue being derived from exports at this time.

> the lack of genuine long-term infrastructure that will benefit future generations of Australians.
