American sniper movie controversy
Jan 23rd, 2015 at 4:25pm

This movie seems to have caused a ruckus and stir within the political circles in America.

IT SEEMS THAT IT HAS OFFENDED THE AMERICAN LEFT LIKE A MOHAMMEND CARTOON.

Michael moore.
Snipers are cowards, Snipers aren't heroes, and invaders are worse

Seth rogan claimed that the Clint Eastwood's film about Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, reminded him of "Nation's Pride," a fake Nazi propaganda film found in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterd.

Both Michael moore and Seth rogan are both feeling the heat from the american public from a backlash against them and since backtracked from there comments.

Whoopi goldberg.

AMERICAN SNIPER MADE 105 MILLION DOLLARS IN THE US BOX OFFICE LAST WEEKEND. the highest so far this year

And accumalated 6 academy award nominations.

I couldn't care less what Seth Rogan said.  Every time I see his pudgy little face I feel like poking my finger in his eye   Smiley

I dont find Seth rogen funny at all and yet he is supposely a famed and successful comedian. Ive watched a few of his films, AND HE DOESNT MAKE ME LAUGH AT ALL.

I think whoopi goldberg really nailed it with her comments about him.

Anyone else seen Enemy At The Gates?

I can't recall anything like the current criticism when that was released.

Then again, that was a depiction of a time long before PC gained a foothold in the American psyche.

I like Eastwood's movies of late. His Gran Torino is a great movie, as are his two depictions of Iwo Jima.

If nothing else, you can't go away after watching any of them without some insights into the human condition.

Ever since Pale Rider, I've considered him an astute observer and commentator on both the good and bad sides of human behaviour.

The real American sniper that this movie is based on was a lying sack of s**t. He wasn't anything like he is portrayed in this movie.

A link for this defamatory statement?

Something to back up this 'opinion'?

I know you can use Google, Aussie.  Search terms:  Jesse Ventura, lawsuit, Chris Kyle.

So you can't Google? Okay.

"Jesse Ventura wins $1.8 million in damages against Chris Kyle, slain Navy SEAL sniper"

Kyle was a lying sack of s**t.

Oh! You mean this:

http://www.people.com/article/jesse-ventura-chris-kyle-lawsuit-american-sniper

Sounds to me like it hasn't settled yet.

And America is famous for litigation, no?

Nice way to treat the family of a dead man, wouldn't you say?

Perhaps Ventura needs either the publicity or the cash. The timing is perfect, unlike the action.

This Clint Eastwood version makes it seem that the sniper was tormented by his actions in Iraq.  The real sniper was not.

No, I was referring to this:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2014/07/29/jesse-ventura-wins-1...

Jesse Ventura won his defamation lawsuit. He won it because Chris Kyle lied in his book "American Sniper."

Quote:
The news emerged after six days of deliberations in St. Paul, Minn. The award includes $500,000 in defamation damages and $1.345 million for “unjust enrichment,” according to the Star-Tribune of Minnesota. “Unjust enrichment” is typically awarded in cases in which the court finds that one person has unjustly or by chance made money at the expense of another, requiring restitution.
