Good for you!! You've made an informed decision on your part for your personal safety & well-being, based on your personal needs & perceptions.

I'm sure there are thousands just like you out there that would do the same.

For all those otherwise, they should have the right to responsibly have the same choice, except if they wish to arm themselves because they feel the need, & feel that government & the police aren't able to meet their security needs, that's a right that government should not stand against them having.

greggerypeccary,

I'm assuming that the life of your daughter isn't worth much - in your eyes ?

That you would see it as [almost] futile to seek to use the most efficient means available to protect her life, and to protect her from criminal violence ?

#1,
You demonstrate that you view possession of a firearm for the purpose of self-defence is a 'joke'.     post #406

#2,
We live in a dangerous world, in which there are many criminals, who are willing to commit violent acts against our persons.

And your solution is arming untrained, paranoid, nervous people with handguns that the criminals can steal and use against them.

You're a genius!  No, really.

G,

Full of dishonesty, you are.

Once upon a time your conscience spoke to you, telling you that you were a transgressor, against truth.

But your conscience does not speak to you any longer, for many years.

To get what you want [in this life], is that [dishonesty] how you conduct yourself in the world ?

1 Timothy 4:2
Speaking lies.....having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Very sad.

Well, JFYI, in reading a few dozen posts by both of you, Yadda seems head & shoulders above GP when it comes to actually attempting to have actual conversation, whereas GP, IMHO you seem more prone to false anecdotes & evasive one-line retorts.

That said, sometimes a fact or two does sneak in there, but that might be due to a conscience struggling for control.

But hey, that's just my unbiased, honest opinion, which 60% +/- of the players on this forum will probably disagree with for political rather than analytical reasons.

Well one may or may not agree with the opinion. I'm disagreeing with the term "unbiased"
