Dinner last night - those baby sprouts were great.

Halve the sprouts, put them in an over tray, cover in olive oil, salt & pepper, then lay bacon over the top and then finally drizzle maple syrup over the top of everything.

Bake in oven.

Never tried that -

I just like them half steamed half boiled for 2 to 3 minutes -
full of flavor.

Thanks - I'll try that one day.

30 minutes?

Wouldn't that cook most of the nutritional goodness out of them?

One seeded wholemeal loaf, one rye loaf.

Q: which is which and why?

The wheat loaf was slashed—it rises due to its gluten content.

The rye loaf just cracked interestingly—it does not rise due to its different type of gluten.

Assuming our loaves were fermented using yeast what can you say?

I had those last week - very nice (fatty, though).

Tonight: rib eye steak on a bed of spinach & rocket, coupled with a Margaret River red (to celebrate Albo's win).

The high school dropout not interested in learning, how unsurprising.

If that bread was made with yeast you would say it was “overproofed” i.e. spent too long fermenting/proving just before going into the oven. The rye bread would also be called overproofed tho the holes are smaller.

But the texture is typical of sourdough bread.

Tonight  - all I wanted was a snack meal - not too much food.

This was perfect - ginger chicken.

Spaghetti with fresh basil, garlic and chilli topped off with olive oil, pepper and Parmesan.

Quick & easy and very tasty.
