Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

Petrol pump attendant ... .Easy DIY process while you enjoy a chat on your mobile or watching the disabled & elderly struggle with pumping up their tyres.

As a bonus, you can drive off without paying.

Musical composers will disappear soon. No whistle-able melodies written in this century.

Conversation will be gone by 2030 replaced with journalese and grunts. A few remaining sentences will start with "like," and finish with "that's awesome," and "that sucks."

Telephone operators..

Quote:
A technology revolution is fast replacing human beings with machines in virtually every sector and industry in the global economy. Already, millions of workers have been permanently eliminated from the economic process, and whole work categories and job assignments have shrunk, been restructured, or disappeared. Global unemployment has now reached its highest level since the great depression of the 1930s. More than 800 million human beings are now unemployed or underemployed in the world. That figure is likely to rise sharply between now and the turn of the century as millions of new entrants into the workforce find themselves without jobs.

something to look forward to...

go to Japan and you can make the machines that, well, make machines...

artificial intelligence.. it'll take off and is taking off... start putting that into a machine and it'll start wondering why humans are so weak only working 8 hrs a day...

science fiction?

no... its already happening... just ask Steven Hawkins..

Already his retro robotic voice is some 20 years out-of-date.

Actually the guy pisses me off with all his futuristic guesswork.

I do.  For one thing most automatic spell checkers don't comprehend grammar, they don't care if the right word is being used and mainly they are American orientated.

There are times I am reading something that doesn't make sense until I use a different spelling in my minds eye.  Angry
