Aaah! Memories of a misspent youth on the back deck of trawlers out of Cairns as an apprentice undersea crustacean harvester.

The worst parts of the job were repairing nets and the suffering from the bities on the sorting tray.

Which reminds me of a rather funny incident when Fisheries decided to pay a visit to one of the trawlers while at sea. A member of the crew, fearing the worst if their stash was discovered, decided to jettison the lot overboard.

This little ruse, not going unnoticed by the sharp-eyed Fishos, resulted in a significantly larger fine for 'littering the Reef' than for mere possession.

Aaaaah! The good ol' days.
