Media coverage of the attack on the parliament had been unbiased and pretty fair. And a few days ago canadians rallied to support there local mosque which was vandalised.

That saves you from thinking, doesn't it. To maintain your kind of reflex stupid equivalence is mindless and, well, stupid.

Islam is not the cause of every problem, but it is the cause of a disproportionate amount of problems, especially for the people in Muslim countries and even more especially for the nonmuslim ones there.

Not every religion teaches the same thing. Not every belief system has the same effect in the world.

The point stands.

Nothing evokes hatred and knee-jerk reactions like religions it imbues followers with a senseless form of moral superiority. It encourages acts of violence, book burnings and limits freedoms.

A good person will always try to do good and an evil person can always be counted on to do evil. But to make a good person do evil things well, then you need religion.

It makes young people blow themselves up. Makes soccer mums bomb an abortion clinic or drown her kid in a bath because he is possessed by a demon. It makes otherwise rational parents mutilate their children.

It provokes rabid fervour in people like Yadda who condemn an evil act committed by one religion yet respect and admire another religion that commits similar acts.

It blinds followers to the failings of their own religion while they denigrate other religions as we see with Sprintcyclist.

You are different Soren you only insult people, then as an after thought attempt to address their argument.

As has been said before it is preferable to have an idea then a belief. You can change an idea, changing a belief is harder. People die for it an people will kill for it.

All to please an invisible man living in the sky.

There was a social experiment few days ago in canada where a white canadian was harassing a muslim man in islamic dress and bystanders where defending the muslim.
