Dingo problem solved.

That's a very conservative approach...

Effective.

Nah, it'd take more than ten shots to remove all of the people thus addressing the dingo's problem.

Why on earth would anyone give a bugger about a few mongrel dingos on an island?

Just shoot the smacking things, problem solved.

I think Fraser Island is home to the last remaining pure dingo population in Eastern Australia.
There's supposed to be less than 150 of them left on the Island.
Thanks to tourists and settlement, they're having a hard time continuing there.

I've heard that before and reckon it is a convenient urban myth.  There are domestic dogs on the island, so you can be sure there has been some fence jumping.

Calling cods ...

re our earlier conversation ...

It doesn't matter how dangerous an environment, some people will still be found frolicking there for the fun of it, whether it's dingoes nipping at their bum while fishing from a rock ... or sharks wanting to chew on legs hanging off surfboards like they're shish kebabs.

Alcohol and speed.

Case closed.

With eight in the vehicle that would suggest Abos or Pacific Islanders.

I knew that would get a rise out of someone. It's not just FD who fishes on Fraser Island.

Caught me a live one. I'm going to throw you back into the brine, Aussie, because the last thing I want to do is eat you ...  Cool

Look sorry all, I know that facts are bloody inconvenient and get in the way of so many absolutely ignorance fuelled debates, damned pesky really.

Here are a few snippets of information;

http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/fraser/fraser-island-dingoes.html

This particular quote for example....

"Wildlife authorities recognise that Fraser Island dingoes may become the purest strain of dingo on the eastern Australian seaboard and perhaps Australia-wide (Woodall et al 1996 as quoted in Fraser Island dingo management strategy – review, December 2006, library document list available here) as they have not crossbred with domestic or feral dogs to the same extent as most mainland populations. Therefore, their conservation is of national significance."

Now, what was that again about shooting them?

Kind of makes me wonder about those tshirts a bit, "if you don't love it leave it...."

Dingos are part of the "it' we are meant to love I believe...

Nonsense, Phlegm.

DNA technology meanz they can be bred back to pure pedigree any time the boffins in the white coats at the CSIRO lab choose to.

Nothing to see here, folks ...

Nonsense, the CSIRO has had it's funding cut by the current lot of criminals in high office. Like I said, I know that facts are bloody inconvenient and get in the way of so many absolutely ignorance fuelled debates, damned pesky really.

I do agree though, there is nothing to see here - thanks for your input!

Genetic engineering is a doddle nowadays.

Remember when we used to get a Meccano set for Christmas as kids?

They get Genetic Engineering sets now. With live sperm and eggs in separate little vials.  Cool
