Pump up the volume

Well I thought Christian slater was a cool actor back a few decades ago. when he was mixing it with the A list in those early 90s, but now he is still in the business today but making forgetable B grade films,

Interstellar.

Scientists must find a new planet after Tony Abbott-style environmental policies ruin the Earth.

Visually entertaining, if not a bit slow to start off with, and quite long altogether. The ending was a bit crap imo. But nonetheless an entertaining film mostly.

I'm sure that the environmental policies of Abbott won't lead to parallel universes inspired by the desertification of the world.

The Abyss

Great film by James cameron, i thought it was better than his other film, TITANIC, great underwater action adventure with a dash of fantasy.

Went to see Exodus: Gods and Kings, and must say, it was interesting with the story from the bible, trying to keep it real, with the sea scene.....and a lot of special effects, wow.
Hubby and I liked the movie, daughter saw it a couple of nights ago and she thought it was an interesting story, but her BF thought it was boring.

I can tell you something that pleased me, I hardly ever go to the movies because, unless it is just a good visual film, and if there is a lot of dialogue, and the hearing problem I have, I miss a lot of what is said and lose interest in the movie.
The good thing at Reading cinema is, they gave me these earphones, and it worked an absolute treat! I had it so loud, it was fantastic.
Makes the movie even better!
Smiley
Usually, I just wait until it comes out in DVD to hire, and then have the subtitles.
It's annoying to others, having the subtitles covering part of the scene, but, instead of me asking "What did they say" like I used to, now the tables have turned, if they miss out on hearing something or it wasn't clear enough, they ask me "What did they say?" because I read it  Grin  Cool

Flatliners

What an idea for a movie, but would not work in real life, a group of medical students under going a scientific experiment in finding the answer through science about what happens to us after death through this craziness of going under and flatlining. but still keifer sutherland, julia roberts and kevin bacon, They do lift this movie and all of its implausibilities

Pointbreak

One of the best action films to this day, one of the best music scores as well

Just listen to this, love this movie, despite how crazy and illogical it is, the ride is always fun.

Scanners

Good movie from David cronenberg about the appealing but yet destructive fictional power of TELEPATHY.

The Last starfighter

Great movie, this movie was one of the stepping stones in the evolution of CGI in movies and the digital effects still hold up today even though it was made in 1984, even though those rubber alien suites that the actors wore to play aliens looks dated, but you will find that this movie has an irresistable and wonderful charm to it.

The story has arthurian overtures, instead of the sword in the stone, its a joystick in a 80s arcade video game, where young alex rogan breaks a record playing the game and gets recruited by the star league to defend the galaxy.

It has a great musical score that has an 80s spielberg/lucas feel to it.

Watched it at your recommendation. Found it as boring as anything, including baseball.
