Lethal Injection Process.
Oct 18th, 2014 at 9:00pm

Sorry about this, but was just watching a show where the condemned man was to be executed by lethal injection.

They prepped the area of injection with an alcohol swab prior to inserting the needle.

WTF for???

They scared he might get some sort of infection???

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Because it's not unusual for the execution to be postponed, or stopped after the needle has been inserted, but before the actual poison is administered.

That'd mean a last minute 'Governer's Pardon' as they call it in the US of A.

Doubt there'd be heaps of those.

I read lots of books on true crime.. usually America..well they have the most from what I can make out...anyway as you know not all States have the death penalty...some stopped it then rehashed it...is that people demand??? I m not sure anyway...

the facts are not many die in a short time on death row... they are there for years and years during that time a huge amount of time and money goes into reversing the death penalty...even their worst killers get heaps of time...I think its only after they have worn out every avenue that they go ahead with the execution...I would think living on death row would be worse than hell to be honest...I am still getting over watching the Van Nguyen story... horrendous.

Probably not. But I also looked into it after I posted, and another reason for sterilising is to protect the staff doing the procedure.

So far, no machine is accurate enough to find the vein in a person's arms.

Fair enough.
I admit to only looking at it from the condemned man's point of view.
Contamination would be the last thing on my mind if I was the one strapped to the table.

Wink
Edit:
The person doing the 'deed' was kitted out in all the surgical PPE.
Mask, gloves, the works....
