If you want more people off the dole, here is the answer.  More jobs = less unemployment.  But then again on the other hand.  Less jobs = more unemployment.      Sad

You still looking for that magic jobs fairy, that gives everyone the perfect job and a 7 figure salary.  Grin Grin

We import labour from the pacific islands to pick fruit, because the magic jobs fairy hasn't made the work easy and extremely well paid for our dole bludging parasites.

Oh yes, it certainly would be good if they could pay, the proper rates of pay and conditions.      Sad

Universal Declaration of Human Rights - Article 25.1:
Quote:
Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

The reason why we have a dole is so the jobs pay is not a Dutch auction by job seekers!

Now there is one frigged up human right, the right to sit on ones  back & side from the day you are born to the day you die and have the rest of society wet nurse you from cradle to grave.

Quick, the best thing we can do for anybody is to make life extremely easy and place them on cradle to grave welfare as soon as possible.

The Govt. is quick to take taxes when you have a job but they don't want to know you
when you lose a job.

Cradle to grave dole bludgers, don't pay a lot of taxes, and don't really have a job at any point in their lives, so I don't see the point of your reply.

The dole should be used to tie you over between jobs, not give you and option to stay unemployed for ever.

Talk about time limiting the dole and I will be more than happy to discuss making access easier.

You'll find the truth is that you can work for 20 years in a job -
get retrenched - & the dole office won't want to know you.

They'll find 1001 excuses to not pay you a cent.

Been there, so?

I got over it and focused on becoming employed, not on getting welfare.

Saved me from having to go to the dole office and hanging around dole bludgers and dealing with idiot public servants.

I am employed but yes I know what they are like at Centerlink -

I admire anyone who can even get one dollar out of them.

I know a man who had a quadruple bypass & he couldn't get
any sickness benefit.
He had previously worked for 35 years &
had a surgeons certificate saying he couldn't work.

Don't expect Centerlink to be there for you in your hour of need.

Since 1944, actually.

Not only did your Beloved Founder say so with his own lips, it's ALSO in Hansard.

AND, he also stipulated that they should NOT be discriminated for doing so.

You could go and check, if you like (though of course you won't).

And don't crap on about times changing. The only thing that's changed is the
loss of all vestiges of decency and integrity in the Liberal Party.

EDIT: While you're browsing Hansard, you might ALSO notice that your beloved
Work for the Dole is also UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Laugh al you like, it's fact.

Also...

Quote:
Coalition’s welfare changes could breach human rights, inquiry finds

A Parliamentary Committee tasked with looking into the legal basis of the governments proposed attacks on welfare (Social Services and Other Legislation Amendment No. 1 and 2) have found 12 measures that breach Australian human rights. These rights include the right to education, right to an adequate standard of living and the right to social security.

MORE:http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2014/sep/30/coalition-welfare-reforms-...

But of course the foul little grub Andrews is attempting to claim they're not.

He's wrong. Nothing unusual there, though, he's never gotten a thing right
since entering Parliament under the last Liberal grub.

All well and good if there were actually jobs out there - but our successive governments have ensured there are not.

Ah - the good old days... when a man could go to work and his family thrive on a single income.... now we have+ 40% more workers than we need - exactly the participation rate of women in the workforce - and thus many are forced onto the dole or part-time casual with no real hope of anything more.

Then we have the increasing family disintegration which forces more people to need work just to survive, and makes the whole thing worse for most.

Truly our governments have a lot to answer for.... several Lost Generations....... all of whom vote....
