Another form of disrespect to PM Gillard was the use of her name without the prefix “PM” in most news media, including the now right wing ABC.

Watching the women on the "The Grill" segment on the Today Show on Nine defend Gillard. Highly amusing that they say she was targeted because she was a women when everyone else knows she was targeted because she was simply a failure as PM regardless of her gender. She used her gender as an excuse, plain and simple.

I dont recall all this TARGETING they refer too.. was it any worse than any other PM.?????..

the worst thing she did was bring in the poor me its all because I am a female..crap...I only watched Howard for about 10 min and when they showed her making her infamous speech even those behind her looked uncomfortable.. even she would have to see that...

but its done and dusted they all make mistakes..its owning them that counts.

I did notice that on Abbott's first day as PM, he was wearing a blue tie. A back-hander aimed at Gillard and her misogyny rant? Maybe!  Grin

Armpit approves of misogyny? Why am I not surprised?

Wearing a blue tie is an act of misogyny now? LMAO!!!!  Grin Grin Grin

why don't you walk through a jewish town wearing a swastika?

A blue tie, because of her speach, has meaning and is not just a blue tie... no surprise that that was beyond you!

a claim by a think-skinned woman does not automatically make it true.  a blue tie has been worn for decades by MPs on all sides.  it means nothing and still means nothing.  it is just a tie.  after her idiotic statement, the men in her own party showed up at a press conference wearing... blue ties.  and it was not a protest. it was what they and everyone else wore. and still do.

the veracity of the claim in itself is now irrelevant ... the fact remains that she made it, blue ties are now, and for the forseeable future a symbol of that claim.

Only if you believe her and I'd wager that the VAST majority of men out there think she's stark-raving mad on that front.

Yeah, she over egged the blue tie thing at that address to women, hoping to surf a wave of confected misogyny to popularity.  Spectacular fail.

not even remotely true.  people have largely forgotten it and the rest simply ignore it as bing a stupid claim made by a rather petty person.  pollies everywhere where the ties they want to and for reasons previously mentioned, are usually blue.  Gillard is gone, her misandry gone and her hysterical 'I am woman, watch me whine' theme also gone.

Gillard was much better than rudd.

not reall a challenge though, was it?  all you had to be was to have an ego smaller than a planet, competence larger than a grain of sand and a set of balls since he had none.

I still think the ALPs first woman leader was Kevin Rudd.

What a misogynistic reply.  No wonder you love the woman basher.

well of all the comments that could have been made, 'misogyny' wasn't the most expected. congratulations on a near worthless reply.

Definitely misogynistic. You clearly don't believe women are capable of leading.

Why do you feel she was a failure?  Define the qualifiers you are using.

When you consider the 600 pieces of legislation PM Gillard was able to get through both Houses, including reforms like the Carbon Price and Minerals Resource Rent Tax you just cannot say she was a failure.

Then you look at the present shambles, Budget in tatters, half the Budget Bills not introduced yet 5 months after the Budget, some just never to be presented—there you have a failure as PM!

hence I'm trying to understnad the qaulifiers our dumb rightwing fwends are trying to use to classify her as a failure.

Gillard never whined! Poise and grace under pressure was her hallmark.

Just because rightwingers take a party line and maybe don’t like the reforms doesn’t mean Gillard didn’t legislate those reforms and so must be judged as successful.

By contrast we have Abbott, action on the RET needed either to keep it or rescind it but he seems to have forgotten it doing the macho man security rubbish. This means the renewables industry doesn’t know if they have a future or not. With the economy declining rapidly uncertainty is something we cannot afford.

But Abbott lives to fight, to divide, has forgotten the RET!

Another title typical of the conservatives standards here but just watch them cry if anyone has a negative word against lord Tony the XXXX.

Even her critics rate her in front of Tony Abbott - nobody would make as nice a comment about him.
