All he would say was the conclusions were the best he was able to make given the budget he had. Furhtermore, his research conclusions had not been peer-reviewed. So, it is not 100% certain that Jack's identity has been proved.

That shawl is an old shawl and would have lots of people's DNA on it.

To say that Kosminski was Jack the Ripper just because his DNA is on the shawl is stretching things a little bit.

The fact is that we'll never know for sure who Jack the Ripper was.

Some say the killer was actually a woman - Jill the Ripper.

Some say that Jack the Ripper never existed at all, and that each woman was killed by a different person.

My favourite (and creepiest) theory is that Jack the Ripper and the mysterious Springheeled Jack - two contemporaries who liked attacking women - were one and the same.
