Unions concerned with Safety Standards ...What BS
Sep 3rd, 2014 at 6:47am

With unions insisting builders erect scaffolding on all roofs when houses are being constructed (at a cost of $6000) and calling it a safety issue , at last the public can see the truth about these dirty grubs.

And this stinking piece of shiit is good mates with the head hacker.

Way to go unions...Unions should be outlawed , just like motorcycle gangs....Fooking criminlas the lot of them.  Thank god only 10 % of Australians still line the pockets of these white ants

read all about it Wink

STANDOVER man Joe Antoun beat a business partner and perforated both of the man’s eardrums because he tried to stop Antoun from drawing cash out of the business.

The assault happened on a Sydney street just months before Antoun was gunned down on the doorstep of his Strathfield home in front of his wife and twin daughters.

His family described him as “a gentle family man” after he was shot five times at close range in December.

The Royal Commission into trade union corruption today heard evidence about a string of labour hire and scaffolding companies connected to George Alex and weekly cash payments to officials in the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union.

Senior Counsel assisting the Commission Jeremy Stoljar described Mr Alex as “a person with well-publicised connections with organised crime”.

Among those well publicised connections who regularly attended meetings at Mr Alex’s home were Mr Antoun and homegrown terrorist Khaled Sharrouf, who is now in Syria and has posted pictures of himself holding the severed heads of Syrian soldiers.

Latham says the labor party needs to cut all ties with the union movement and its easy to see why.
its also easy to see why we have had a succession of union hacks lead the labor party and be involved within the party.

Gillards corruption now seems to be coming home to roost.
Thommo..say no more.
Unbelievable that the labor party would appoint a union puppet like Shorten.
They truly misjudge how the union movement is seen in suburbia.

Unions concerned with Safety Standards ...What BS

The story seems to be not related to safety at all is it just another of those topics produced with a random title generator ?

If you would like to know something about safety in the building industry try this:

Till the commencement of the first building industry watchdog (ABCC) death and serious injury in the building industry had been trending down for around 20 years.

Each and every year the ABCC was in place death and injury on building sites increased.

When the body was remover the downward trend re commenced.

far too much MONEY AND POWER.....and labor knows it...they have sat back and watched this cancer spread....now the bikies have got control....and we can thank Labor for not turning their back on unions in years gone by......look how many are on their benches front and back....labor would be nowhere if it wasnt for the unions...

cut their ties... it will never happen.

Statement from CFMEU National Construction Secretary Dave Noonan

The Trade Union Royal Commission today heard evidence of conflict between Fair Work Building Commission (FWBC) inspectors and construction workers and union officials on building sites.

Swearing on building sites is nothing new and doesn’t warrant a $53 million Royal Commission. The greater scandal is that industry regulators have been asleep at the wheel.

Rather than pursue entitlements left unpaid by unscrupulous employers; the Fair Work Building Commission sends inspectors to video and photograph workers taking part in legitimate union meetings to intimidate them. Workers are under threat of fines and prosecution if they are minutes late arriving to work.

Disturbing evidence of criminality among employers exposed by yesterday’s hearings illustrates the CFMEU’s long-held concerns about the practices of labour hire companies in the construction industry.

The industry regulator, the FWBC has not pursued the George Alex companies for non-payment of entitlements; only the union has done so. Our officials have to deal with unscrupulous operators in order to protect the interests of our members.

The CFMEU NSW Branch has recovered over a million dollars in entitlements owed by companies associated with George Alex in the past two years. The industry regulator has not recovered one cent for these workers. We don’t get to choose the employers in our industries – but we are the only ones trying to make them do the right thing by workers.

ASIC and the ATO have not committed enough resources to address ‘phoenixing’ and other such practices that damage our industry.

The CFMEU has called for the licensing of labour hire operators as a way of raising professional standards and stamping out the blight of ‘phoenixing’. If the Royal Commission was serious about cleaning up the construction industry it would deliver a recommendation to license labour hire operators.

The CFMEU does not tolerate corruption.

There was no credible evidence in the hearings that the union received any corrupt payments from individuals or businesses associated with George Alex.

The CFMEU’s position and record on corruption is clear: if there is credible evidence of wrongdoing by union officials, we will deal with it ruthlessly.

In the case of our member who received a telephone call from George Alex, we advised him to report the incident to police immediately, which he did. He has the full support of the union.

The CFMEU has complied with extensive notices to produce documents from the Royal Commission; there has been no attempt to by anyone in the union to knowingly destroy documents relevant to the Royal Commission.

No. Ignorant rednecks, with their heads so far up their horses' arses that they have no idea what goes on in the real world, should be outlawed.

really... would MORE building have been going on in that time??????

I do agree that some awful accidents happen on building sites.....it goes with the territory sadly... but I do not think all accidents are the business' fault..

would the house owner be blamed for a wall or roof being blown down by strong winds??

who takes responsibility for a tree brought down in a gale.??>..

stuff happens, not all accidents are someones fault..and some accidents are the workers fault.

Welllllll:  I watched the 'evidence' as it was presented to the Commission.  Three basic facts:

1.  Money of contractors was withdrawn from contractor accounts ($2500.00 each week in cash) and internal contractor books recorded it as either 'Union fees' or "CFMEU".

2.  The withdrawal and method of recording was at the instruction of this Antoun bloke, who had a financial and management interest in the contractor, with other investors.

3.  The cash was handed to Antoun ~ and no-one knows where it went from there.  Antoun was murdered in December, 2013.  (Convenient, wot?)

So.....was the $2,500 per week actually paid to a Union by Antoun, or was Antoun siphoning funds off the company (straight into his pocket as cash) and dudding his fellow investors?

Thank god the "real ' world where "real' Australian pie creators work is now only 10 % unionised. after this report maybe 8 %.
It may do the labor party good to start up a union for welfare recipients to pay their union dues so shop stewards can use standover tactics at centrelink when they are telling their BS disability pension sob stories.
How about "the Australian leaners union" . That has a nice ring to it.  they can go on strike and no one will notice  Wink Wink

It'll be a long time before anybody exceeds the stupidity of your posts.

As to how you came up with the figure of 10%, I can only guess:

Nice bay, could be in foal.

Is union membership rising sunshine?
Do tell!!!

Outlived their usefulness.

We have genuine teamwork between bosses and workers nowadays. Enterprise bargaining.
Why would any productive worker want to be in a union . They are only useful for the slackers and dudes with pretend sore backs and pretend bullying claims.  Most "real" Australians cant abide a sook.
To be honest, Shorten , when he speaks, always seems to be having a sook, so its easy to spot the union mentality.
Should be plenty of sooks, dodgy pretend sore backs and dodgy pretend workplace "stress" victims in the new centrelink "leaners union". instead of the painters and dockers , they could call it the "whiners and slackers " union.  labor should start up a trade union for welfare recipients. i'm surprised they're not all over it.  a list of people who sign "Get up' petitions would be a good place to start

I gave you four examples the other day:

to assist when bullying occurs;
to assist with genuine Workers' Compensation claims;
to ensure that meal and rest breaks are taken;
to ensure that employees are paid for every minute worked.

These problems are happening every single day, in some of the biggest companies in the country, and without the help of the Unions workers would be getting screwed left right and centre.

Your ignorance on what happens in the workforce is positively astounding.

Bullsh1t!!!

If this was as common as you are making out there wouldn't such a small union membership, they would be overflowing with members. The reality, that the bogieman you and the unions crap on about  isn't commonplace at all and everyone knows it.

The only way to get people to join a union is with threats and intimidation like the did in the 'good old days'.

Most unions are made up of self serving grubs, no better than politicians, which is what most of them aspire to be, the ones who don't end up in gaol.
