The Germans sticking it to the Brits ...

"August at last! High summer is here, the sun is shining and millions of holidaymakers across Europe and beyond are heading for the beach.

But - uh oh - what is this? Before you can tie a knotted hankie onto your head and expose a pair of white winter knees to the ultraviolet, Germany has fired the first salvo in the annual Brit-Kraut seaside offensive.

This week in the pages of mass-selling German tabloid newspaper Bild, they launched a rather damning attack on the failings of British holidaymakers".

Well I never ...

"According to them, we are stupid, overweight, lecherous, drunk, ugly, flesh-spilling vulgarians who despoil any resort we crash land in, like a shower of reprobate meteorites. We are a pestilence upon the fleshpots of Europe, a scourge upon good living folks everywhere, uneasy on the eye".

Ouch!

Not sure why they are complaining about British flesh spilling out everywhere. The Germans aren't all hot young looking ladies, though most of them are.

What makes for a good laugh is the french description of Henry V's English army in France...

Somewhat similar a description of English men as the Bild article.

The English... Sticking it to the continentals for 600 years...

Where once the English were known as 'Les goddons' by the continentals of Henry's time (for their penchant for using the foulest blaspheming language of the time - God damm)... Now they're 'Les FvckOffs'... Some things never change.

for a moment I thought this may have been about WW1... which from what I heard the Germans are just beginning to take an interest in......sheeeeeez what happened.....

oh thats right.. we lost that one too...

seriously this must be the century of rubbishing other nations..... from what little I know.. most people that go on holidays as in groups.... Aussies in Bali for instance.. show a lack of grace and charm...they are on holiday for gods sake.... and usually spending money..... what ever happened to tolerance? nit pickers.
