The school has identified through consultation with the local Aboriginal community, the opportunity to employ a tutor to work at Eden Marine High School with Aboriginal students, particularly in the areas of Engagement, Literacy and Numeracy.
The successful applicant will be required to address the following criteria in a written application.
Position Criteria
Evidence of or prepared to undertake a
Working With Children Check.
Provide support to targeted Aboriginal
students to improve their literacy and/or
numeracy achievements
Assist students to develop skills and
understandings that enable them to
independently participate in class activities
Work closely with teachers to ensure the
tuition provided is relevant to student learning
needs
Following a structured timetable in
negotiation with teachers to ensure all
eligible students receive tutor support
Keep a record to communicate observations
and information about each student to the
class teacher
Assist teachers as requested to communicate
and provide feedback to parents, caregivers
and community members
Attend, where possible, professional learning
activities to develop effective strategies in
providing tutorial support for Aboriginal
students
Previous experience in working with children
and young people in a support role
Ability to demonstrate strong inter-personal
skills and the ability to engage students in
their learning
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people have priority for employment as tutors for Norta Norta programs.
This position would be a temporary position funded until the end of the 2014 school year. An evaluation will then occur regarding the position for 2015.

Just a lack of social intelligence from the libs ( a reflection of their lack of small business people in their ranks)  A small business person would never upset the customers (in this case the voters) without thinking it through. If a small business person continually upset the customers (and achieved nothing in the process0, I would expect their small business to fail in, oh, about 4 years.
the only hope for such a business to survive is that new management come in and do a refurb.

Given the lack of jobs, a case can be made for cutting the job search requirements. I'm sure a lot of businesses will breathe a sigh of relief to have this unnecessary government-imposed workload reduced. The Business Council of Australia want unemployed people to focus more on jobs that they have a realistic chance of getting. Cutting the job search requirement to 5 a fortnight but requiring a plausible chance of getting each of those jobs would work far better.
