I was deleting some old links and came across this cute clip. Clever puppies who love their work.

Sometimes we might be a little too good at training.

Gotta love the enthusiasm, though.

If you haven't watched Pansi's duck video yet - you should.

Birds are incredibly intelligent animals and are under-estimated. They become very attached to the humans and animals they live with. Ravens especially are renowned for their intelligence and being easy to tame.

I have never had anything to do specifically with Ravens but I have had some experience with their cousins, Magpies.  Amazingly intelligent birds who can pick up language skills and talk without actually having been trained to do so.

I've had an extended family of magpies visiting my home for a feed of mince for about 4 years now. They are extremely intelligent birds and have some interesting habits - especially the females, who appear to change their partner after each annual batch of babies become more independent. The males who are excellent protectors become burnt out very quickly and are discarded. The females appear to have more stamina and need diversity when breeding.

If I leave my backdoor open and don't respond quickly enough, one female in particular flies straight through the house and sits on a kitchen bar stool waiting for me. She has no fear of the cats, which isn't a good thing.

Magpies are beautiful birds, but very demanding.
