TONY Abbott has cautioned colleagues against an “action replay” of Labor’s leadership dramas, amid another day of turmoil over the budget and an inappropriate wink.

The hollow blew and puffed but nobody was listening!

Guess who's beginning to realise just how completely stupid he's been?  Shocked

He was too used to being in Opposition, he assumed he could just continue using the same careless approach to the truth and the public would wear it unthinkingly.
He actually believed HE won the election, rather than what really happened, Labor lost it!   Grin

Not what he thought was that he had enough political capital to get these measures through and win an election.  And who knows, they still have 2 years where anything is possible.  The only hope now is that he's measures are denied access in the senate and he either looks weak, or goes to a DD.

True enough, sadly so, we can only hope his arrogance or idiocy extends to calling a DD while the public outrage still lingers. He's misread nearly everything else, pray he's consistent in that if nothing else.

He's wetting himself !

Mainstream media is finally catching on and talking about Abbott being replaced as leader

Abbott's trying to play the high-road and save his neck by saying LNP aren't going the same road as Labor

Hey Abbott !  We can take it, we really can.  After the musical chairs act of Labor --- we won't mind one BIT if LNP kick you to the back benches and replace you with --- sheet --- with just about anyone

Because one's thing's for sure

If LNP don't accept they're done with Abbott at the helm

then they are ALL done

and they know it

Won't be long to wait

to see Abbott removed by his own

Put it this way, Karnal

People vote OUT government

and the People voted out Labor

Now, why would they do that if Labor was serving the People well?

You getting it yet ?

ANY party seemed 'grown up' compared to Labor

Now, the People are seeing that there is NO actual two party system --- just the desperately maintained ILLUSION of choice

BOTH fake parties put the kybosh on talk of a Federal ICAC type organisation

BOTH fake parties hold hands as they vote themselves regular and massive pay increases

BOTH fake parties are mere mouthpieces for those who actually run and control this country

Labor is doing Eff All right now --------- noticed ?

Where's Wee Willy Shorten?  Why isn't he taking charge and sounding viable ?

WHY are increasing numbers of people --- BIG numbers of people -- saying they're going to give their vote to a completely untried PUP ?   It's unbelievable.  But it shows just how little trust and faith are enjoyed by either fake party

Australia is careening down the rapids towards the waterfall

and there's NO ONE at the rudder !

And you sit there with your mealy-mouthed, bitter little one liners, having spent your great big one vote that obviously achieved jack spit

Take a look around Karnal

Football's is over there -- on that oval -- see it.  All the creatures with no-neck and rotten mangoes in each cheek which apparently is a mandatory speech impediment for anyone wanting to be taken seriously as a 'footy hero'

and over here is real Australia, where people are losing their homes and businesses and families and livelihoods - with many taking their own lives

So here's the scoop --- footy is NOT politics

not supposed to be

People with even average IQ are NOT supposed to 'follow' their political 'team' blindly in the same way they boast they've 'followed' the Blues all their useless lives

Footy is ENTERTAINMENT, Karnal

Deciding which political party might offer the greater chance for the average Australian requires consideration, a modicum of intelligence and the necessity, very often, to vote without blind, moronic party loyalty, for the good of the country -- for the betterment of the majority

I know.  All too difficult for you

I agree with all that you say but go one step further and say, its time we demand a real democracy, a direct democracy. What's your reply?

How will Abbott recover before the next election from his lies and deceit.....If he makes any more cuts it will have to be from middle and high income earners who are the only people left who might vote for him....If he offers tax cuts or other election bribes people will be asking why he had to make such inequitable cuts in the first place.....As I have been saying all along, Tony Abbott is promising nothing for the future of Australia and delivering it in spades!!!

Put ATM type machines all over the place

Allocate a PIN type number for everyone of voting age

All government proposals would be visible by scolling on the ATM type machines and online, etc.

The date proposed, by whom and the date when votes will conclude would be included within the information provided

Voters would be able to access the proposals 24/7

All proposals would be subject to majority Yay or Nay

Government would be merely the administrative arm of the People -- in other words, would be bean-counters, vote-tallyers

e.g. ' So and so has proposed purchase of twenty xyz fighter jets from Russia at a cost of $..... to be delivered in 12 months'.  Some might vote Yes.  Others, No.  Purchase would be dependent upon majority approval

e.g. ' So and so has proposed increasing politicians salaries by 26%, commencing July.  If approved, politicians would receive $X per year plus perks'.  Subject to majority approval

and so on

Under the current system, we are not asked, we are told.  Politicians are allocated portfolios in which they have no expertise.  Our lives are subject to influences whose identities are largely withheld from the paying public

I'm a great believer in Of the People, By the People, For the People.  Sure, it's hackneyed now, has been ground down to meaninglessness.  I also believe in majority rule - it works for the animal kingdom and we are, after all, a lower form of animal. And all empires which have catered to minorities have folded

There is no official name for my utopian scheme

As the kids are saying, Abbott and Crew must have been on crack all the way through -- when they drafted their abomination of a budget and when they dumped it on the People

Abbott was clearly bought and paid for long before the last election, imo

Shows you what they really think of 23 million PEOPLE

And the way he arranged his daughter's 'scholarship' is inclining some (maybe many) to suspect his Rhodes Scholarship was similarly contrived

Leadership not in question, says Abbott

Quote:
Prime Minister Tony Abbott expects to lead the Liberal Party to the next election despite facing a hit in the polls over the federal budget.

His government is trailing Labor by up to 11 points in two-party terms in opinion polls following anger over its first budget.

Mr Abbott is also lagging behind Opposition Leader Bill Shorten as preferred prime minister.

A number of coalition MPs and senators have also spoken out against some of the more controversial budget measures.

Asked on Fairfax Radio in Melbourne whether he would survive the leadership to the next election due in 2016, Mr Abbott said: "Absolutely."

"What we saw in the last two terms of parliament was the political disaster that occurred to governments that wantonly changed their leader," he said.

"I'm happy to run a few political risks for the sake of the country."

he won't be challenged yet .... they'll keep him in play until after the next budget next year, and if his numbers don't improve they will then get rid of him ... it's way to early yet.
