Dear Herbert - are you an electronics technician?

To do this job properly you need to have a lot of skill & the right tools.

Yes, I have the right tools.

A Phillip-head screw-driver ... some emery-paper ... compressed air ... a razor-blade ... hammer-and-chisel ... etc etc.

It'll be a cinch.  Smiley

Lol for me a flat head is best as not all the screws will be for a philips. Also a wooden paint brush works a wonder.

I just did mine. I've had this computer for about two years. It wasn't too bad, surprisingly, mostly dust sitting on that fan thingy.

I used a can of compressed air and a soft brush. I mustn't have touched anything I shouldn't have touched because it fired up perfectly.....not caught fire, booted I mean  Smiley

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

But now - where is the dust?
You still need to carefully vacuum it out or it will block up the
heatsink again.

You have to split the laptop in half.
That is not easy to do unless you know where the plastic tabs are.

Dear Dame Pansi,
If dust was quite bad on the heatsink of the CPU then it's really an electronics technician's job to remove it.

cheers
