Dear Greens,
the search is not just about those people -
what if the Boeing 777 has an intrinsic fault that
will cause other similar planes to crash?

The whole world must find out why it crashed &
the only way is to  find the black boxes.
It could be you flying on the next  777.

you are forgiven

namaste

Exactly.
Some of us take those planes here.
Lord knows i have flown Malaysia - could be any one of us.

Not to mention those poor souls on that plane.

Greens needs to wind his head in here, this is very poor.

Yes Andrei,
this latest thread from Greens is so far from common sense
that Greens really needs her head read.

Some people on this forum have no sense of reality.

Looks like there are many people on here who need counseling.

The internet seems to attract cranks - they need help.

Speaking from Great Britain the coverage we have of Australia doing it's best to find debris which may assist find the plane location, it just looks and plays very well.

If Australia - as mantra suggests - sorry we can't help we are going to spend our money on unemployment benefits etc, sod off nothing to do with us..

Well those of us in the rest of the world would rightly be unimpressed by your refusal to play a role in an international effort.

Well done Australia - ignore the local idiots.

Andrei - because someone doesn't agree with you - it doesn't mean they're an idiot.

So we should start caring what the rest of the world thinks about us now when Abbott has done his best to strain our Asian relationship? Even you don't appear to think much of Australians.

You're the one who mentioned unemployment benefits, but imagine how those people feel whose jobs are being slashed by Abbott? Yes, they'll become part of the great unwashed unemployed that the righties love to sneer at, but in the meantime - we've got superhero Abbott wasting money like it grows on trees - yet telling the Australian people to suck up all his harsh funding cuts.

There is no witch hunt mantra, people are dead. An ordinary Australian couple with a family who love them included.
It's about common decency.

Australia has a role to play to help the hunt to find out what happened.

There are millions of people suffering all over the world and we turn our nose up at them. If there were only 5 people on that plane - do you really believe this much money would be pumped into this search? They would have stopped after a week.

What a cop out of an answer.

what about the cost of looking for bush walkers...skiiers lost in the alps..

its human at least I would think so...

do you not realise mantra money is put aside for such emergencies....the RAAF are being paid whether they fly or are in the air..its their job.

we are lucky to have them...

what about the money spent on border patrol and rescue of asylum seekers...thanks to your mob???>...

dont recall you complaining about using the Navy for that.. Angry

I didn't say much about the boat people, aside from saying I was becoming worried about the numbers. It's a debate I have mixed feelings on.

I agreed with the cut to single parents and that they should go back to work when their youngest child turns 8. Under a Hawke/Keating government single parents had no choice but to go back to work when their child was a few weeks old. Howard was very generous with his welfare spending and encouraged gluttony for those on middle and upper incomes.

No it wasn't. Where do we draw the line on government spending? There has been a lot of whinging over the years from both sides of politics on how much these search and rescue operations cost.

Don't you start that Bobby. The trolls from PA are hanging onto our every word and that statement will be used as ammunition when they're using our nicks to abuse each other.  Smiley

Disgusting thread.

Shame on you kiwi.

A bit like AP's thread accusing the Marchers of murder?

Now, that one should have been deleted, along with
a ban for its originator.

And yes, I hope this plane is found, and I don't particularly care who by, as long as it is.

THAT is the important thing, as Bobby said.

Abbott saying that that debris is from the plane is “Oh look, a unicorn” to distract from Arfur’s woes.

Malaysia is clearly concealing information about the plane—should we spend all that money looking for needles in haystacks? Black boxes are not in tailplanes.

I think Bobby's spot on...  I keep telling you, you need a holiday.

We do have certain responsibilities mantra and we are in the best position for this search.  Other countries are helping and this event has the whole world wondering mantra.

The ignorance of the right. . .Howard started putting single mothers onto NS, all Gillard did is to do the same with families where the youngest child was over 8yo. With all the family allowances etc I doubt the mothers lost all that much in terms of cash. With the tripling of the tax free threshold it is more worthwhile to work part time, paying no tax on the first $18.2Kpa/$350/week.

mantra   this isnt govt spending.. its money that is there for just such an emergency...where do we suddenly get millions from for earthquakes and tsunamis..gawd dont worry you wont go without..

as for not caring about the cost of opening the floodgates to Boat people.. well maybe you should..

take a look at the DEBT... why do you think we have that I wonder???????

you will probably find that the airline has insured its plane.. and they are paying for at least some of this search,.

I just find it amazing that you feel justified in your stance on this...would you really feel for the Australian taxpayer if your family were on that plane?????

In other words - this will entertain and distract the masses for a while and give the primeminister the attention he craves.

It will certainly make the media moguls a whole pile of money. Isn't Abbott just about to sign off on a deal for open slather ownership of the media in Australia. It all helps his cause.
