Hi Cods,
people have been blaming left wing news services for the leaks
but now a right wing paper is doing it too.

the guardian and the ABC are not picking what they are doing is outrageous

They are reporting the news cods, as is The Australian Murdoch right wing press.

Australia can't complain when the story comes out. If we act like rsoles, don't complain when we're treated like like rsoles and the world finds out about it.

It is the job of the media to report the news, no matter how distasteful it is, it's their obligation.

so its all right then for the MEDIA TO HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY WHATEVER is that what you are saying???

spying is everywhere you are spide on when you walk into a shopping centre.. we have cameras to spy on the speed we drive.. WHATS NEW...

are you telling me its ok for the press/media 4 corners... to blast sh!t or make fun of Islam.. BECAUSE IT HAPPENS TO COME FROM SNOWDEN/???..

can you see us all having a jihad declared on us because 4 corners got a scoop from Snowden?..

is that really your idea of FREEDOM OF SPEECH..

no responsibility whatever. its NEWS Roll Eyes

to tell me this country is spying on that country is not news at all to the likes of me..

I was around during the Cambridge 5 Philby and Burgess thats  maybe before your time..

but believe me... havent you heard of Mara Hari.  thats even before my time...

since electronics..thats kind of old fashioned now.. Wink

The more disturbing question is :

why aren't the ABC & the Guardian reporting this latest leak?

Is there a "D" type notice on them?

Sounds like the ABC is waiting for Tony to get things back on track before releasing another tranche of confidential documents. If that does happen, Tony needs to leave his good-guy persona at the door and deal harshly with the ABC. In my opinion, he should've already by sacking the Managing Director.

The MD Mark Scott is a Lib Party member and has done huge damage to the independence of the ABC.

I seem to recall the Murdoch press bagging the ABC for printing the previous spying revelations, (particularly that dolt Bolt).

Now they print this!!

smacking Hypocrites!!

They realised that this sort of stuff sells papers and were pissed off because the ABC denied them the first scoop  Smiley

It is hardly worth commenting on Greenswin or Adelcrows gear.  I think they are both a bit touched in the head.

So Pine Gap wasn't spying during the Howard regime?

Did history only start 6 years ago in your head.

Abbott supports pine gap so Abbott and his supporters are guilty in it's spying on others and Australians.

Now go stand in the naughty corner for 10 minutes and think over what you have done.

Didn't the ABC say at the time that there was other information that they hadn't printed because it wasn't in the public interest in that releasing it could do damage.

Looks like Vlad has pumped a few more documents out of the trouble maker Snowden.

Slap my arse and call me Monica and you’ll get all the documents you want.

The front page of the Australian today -
They did report it.

http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/viewer.aspx

Quote:
INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES FEAR REVELATIONS ABOUT SPYING ON CHINA AND OUR OWN CITIZENS

NEW revelations from the stockpile of documents stolen by US security contractor Edward Snowden are expected to include evidence of Australian espionage against China and other Asian neighbours and expose the scale of surveillance by Australian agencies against their own citizens.

The Abbott government is bracing for a new series of disclosures about Australian intelligence activity, which is likely to include fresh details on Indonesian spying that will further test the relationship with Jakarta.

Snowden, a former US National Security Agency contractor, is also believed to have extensive material involving Australian intelligence efforts directed at China, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, Thailand and The Philippines, as well as various South Pacific nations.

One of the most controversial matters will be the disclosure of a much wider surveillance and listening program within Australia than previously known.

It is believed that all Australian activities likely to be revealed will be legal, with senior figures confident that no Australian intelligence agency has broken any Australian laws.

However, Australia has fewer restrictions on domestic spying than the US and has undertaken targeted but extensive surveillance, most related to terrorism threats. Senior figures in the US and Australia believe that the Snowden leaks are the single most damaging episode to hit the Western intelligence effort since World War II.
