Surely this was the greatest moral challenge?

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is expected to dump the controversial carbon tax in favour of an emissions trading scheme.

News Limited reports that the carbon tax, which is due to rise by $1.15 per tonne to $24.15 next week, will top the agenda when he convenes his first cabinet meeting on Monday.

"This is a priority issue," a source close to Mr Rudd told News Limited.

Mr Rudd is widely expected to move forward the end of the fixed carbon price period by a year to 2014 - easing pressure on business, but lowering the money reaped by the scheme.

The new prime minister is due to name his cabinet on Friday, which will include Senator Penny Wong, Science Minister Don Farrell and Defence Minister Stephen Smith - who's planning to retire from politics at the election.

That hasn't pleased Greens leader Christine Milne who says any changed position Mr Rudd takes is electioneering because parliament will have risen.

"He has backflipped on climate so much I don't think people will really trust him to actually respond to the science," she told ABC Radio on Friday.

"He will be much more interested into caving into business and caving into the big miners than responding to the climate crisis."

I'm afraid I didn't smithy. All that big print literally hurts my eyes. I don't read buzz's either unless they're short.
But for you I'll go back to it. Maybe I can wear sunglasses.

OK I've read it now. What I'd say is this is not inherent in corporations, which are nothing more than a vehicle for aggregating capital to fund businesses, but it is inherent in people, in the human race.
It doesn't have to be this way, but I don't think you have to abandon corporations, they need overhaul for sure, what you have to do is change people.
People have always been greedy since they lived in caves if not earlier.

the greatest moral challenge is the alp dumping a failed leader only to reinstate another proven failed leader.

then expecting anyone to listen to them before the next generation of voters arrive.

It's the fact the next generation of voters HAS arrived that I find a worry.
Again, Whitlam the buffoon, voting age should never have been reduced to 18. What does the average 18 year old know? The over 18s are bad enough.
