I'd stay away.

IF you must use one of these programs, I recommend C-Cleaner.

And no, it's not 'crap'. I've used it successfully for over 10 years.

But these programs are NOT for novices, they do require a bit of
knowledge to use them effectively without trashing your system.

Anyone eagerly and happily downloading "FREE" software should BEWARE!!!

It is not at all unusual to also download spyware with this stuff.

The spyware will then diligently record any passwords you enter and dutifully send them off to some macabre foreign destination that will then seek to lighten your bank accounts.

Some of the more evil spyware can also DISABLE common virus software.

Some spyware will lock up your PC and demand a payment to release it.

And it can be really difficult to get rid of some of this spyware.

Happy downloading.

Now with Ubuntu LINUX all the software is free to download and virus and spyware is virtually non-existent in the Ubuntu LINUX world.

I think shareware is what you need to download for free. Not as good as the full version. But good enough to get what you want done.

"Free" software often contains spyware that monitors your keystrokes and sends them off to a hacker. And a VPN won't help you. ALWAYS run your spyware/virus checker on the "free" download BEFORE running it. A really good spyware/virus checker is Webroot Secure anywhere.
