I like goats, had one as a pet years ago, brilliant companion animal. Well a bit destructive but that probably is because Goats are not materialistic...
As to food choices, I always find that a curious argument. It seems to me that the choice of food is not particularly important (ethically), how we treat the animal and, more importantly, how we slaughter it is absolutely important (ethically).
The choice of food though, seems to me is personal. For example, I probably would have eaten goat once, however, since my experience of having one as a pet it would not feel right to now go and slaughter one for my consumption....Same with dogs, horses, monkeys, humans (yes we are meat too, but ya didn't think of that one...) to differing degrees.
