It said in the article I read that it looked like she did but she actually didnt? We will never know if its another media spinout. He threw the water first though. I think slapping a woman around on TV has to be bad for his image though. He has lost the election.

The events "were staged, aimed solely at provoking an extreme reaction by me," Ilias Kasidiaris, who is also the press spokesman for Chryssi Avgi (Golden Dawn), declared on the party's website.

Kasidiaris shocked the country by throwing a glass of water on leftist Syriza party deputy Rena Dourou and then striking Liana Kanelli from the communist KKE party three times live on television on Thursday morning.

Following the incident Athens prosecutors ordered Kasidiaris's arrest on the grounds of attempted grievous bodily harm, but he remains at large.

The assault has been widely condemned by politicians and the press and on Friday some 2,000 demonstrators marched through the centre of Athens shouting "neo-Nazis out."

In his statement, the MP announced his intention of going to the prosecutor's office himself in order to sue those responsible for the "illegal actions" undertaken against him over the past two days.

Kasidiaris is also allegedly involved in a 2007 mugging case, with a hearing scheduled to take place on Monday following a postponement last week. It was a question about the case that sparked Thursday's assault.

Golden Dawn won 6.9 percent of the vote and 21 seats in parliament at the May 6 elections whose inconclusive result meant that Greeks will go back to the polls on June 17.
