Great argument.  You're saying that because one facet of leftist thought has caused great harm to the institution of marriage (and consequently, society as a whole) we should allow another facet to destroy it completely.

Nope.  I'm saying no such thing.

Oh.  My mistake.

So what was the relevance of showing recent trends regarding marriage and family?

So you would advocate for the reinstatement of "At fault Divorce"?

That's OK: everyone makes mistakes.

The relevance is that it suggests that marriage may not actually be "the glue that holds society together."

Simple.

If the ALP brought this in, then it would be yet another trash to democracy. They went to the last election with a promise of no change to the marriage act. Also, homosexual marriage is unnatural, and would dent the holy sanctity of the holy and sacramental union between man, woman and God.
Isn’t marriage itself unnatural?
Also, god does not exist.

Marriage does go against nature, but its not for you to say God doesnt exist.  You cant expect people to forget thousands of years of religion, a religion spread all over the world in many variants.  If you want tolerance, you should practice it as well.
Thousands of years of religion, and not one fact.

That may well be the case, but it is still a very active belief system the world over, an entreched one within the culture of society.  Its hardly a good counter argument to those who oppose gay marriage, when marriage itself is a concept of society as well.

That's a bit short sighted though.

Would it be wrong to say social cohesion has lessened over the time frame to which your trends refer?

Marriage is indeed a "social construct" or "unnatural" but it was instituted as protection for women and children.  The natural state of affairs is that a small group of alpha males would sire children far and wide, leaving the women to fend for them, and the children without a strong male role model.  By binding a man to a woman via marriage, it guaranteed support and family bonds.  I don't see the same need for homosexual unions - each man can fend for themselves just as well, and children are a non-issue since they cannot be produced within that union.

So, what's the point of it all?

The point is that it is an institution of creation of life between a man and a woman, not a stalk and a spare babies factory or spare sperm factory.

They WON'T

NOR will the LibNats

( ... BOTH, in either Government or Opposition)

Yet the equality reform has MAJORITY support in the broad electorate ?

YES

But NOT in the MARGINAL "bogan belts" ( ... western 'burbs" of the capitals) - or the "troppo zones" ( ... FNQ and the NT)

And THESE electorates are where governments are MADE and DESTROYED

( ... but don't expect EITHER party to admit to THAT)

I surveyed a more representative sample of ordinary hard working church going Australians and few support Homo Marriage - this is entirely driven by atheist Political elites and subversives who ASIO should be monitoring.  This is a bad idea for the structure of society and the economy cannot sustain it - the choice is stark - Homo welfare = Kids in a state farm and the Grandparents and disabled Euthanized - its that simple.  Society cannot sustain economically the socialist, nanny state materialist, pure economics model without mass killings. No it's not.

Procreation is not a requirement of marriage.

If your son comes home and tells you he is a homosexual you should disown him for the sake of the family unit and structure.  That is the normal and natural structure of family.  Homo Atheist welfare is not in accord with how family and society evolved and organized itself naturally, it must be forced on us. Is that just a subjective opinion, or do you actually have something to substantiate the claim?

I'd be interested in seeing whatever you have.

Plus, what's really behind their agenda?  What is it that these "atheist Political elites and subversives" are ultimately trying to achieve?  A new world order run by lesbian couples?

It all sounds very intriguing.

Cool.

Do you have a link to it?

Who actually carried out the study?
