A new pic, taken today, of "the boys"

http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa322/buzzanddidj/daboys.jpg

... that's Fionnlagh, on the left - the White West Highland Terrier - at eight months

... and Didj - the Australian Silky Terrier - at five and a half years

Great dogs - but I have to admit I don't approve of owners who let the fur hang in strands in front of the mutt's eyes because it adds to their cuteness and is 'aesthetically pleasing' to the observer.

Same with all those breeds of dogs with squashed-in noses, and the others with 'designer' massive skin folds.

Try walking around with your hair hanging in front of your eyes for an hour or two.

They are not toys. Their comfort should come first - not your wish for them to look cute-and-appealing.

Please think about it.

They can't speak up for themselves.

Gott im Himmel!

Was he spraying crops, mustering the herd, or strafing the Japs at the time?

He was in Canada instructing pilots how to strafe the Germans.

Some of those Canadian pine trees are very tall ... and if you survive the crash you then have to avoid the bears.

I've got newly discovered cousins in Toronto and Vancouver. A Doctor 'this' and a 'Professor' that. ... No cheap-and-nasty cousins for me, thank you very much ...

I once read that during WWII over 1,000 pilot trainees were killed in the UK during training sessions before they even had a chance to fly off to fight the Germans. That is just such an appalling figure.

I don't know but they were hell raisers and it is appalling if true.  My Dad instructed in the UK before he was sent to Canada.
