This is what the protesters are trying to change.

And unless or until they change the entire American political system, particularly the part where candidates are self/donation funded, they are simply bashing their heads against a wall.....
UN boss warns of 7 billion's angerUN chief Ban Ki-Moon warns world leaders will face mounting protests from 7 billion people over inequality.
UN chief Ban Ki-Moon has warned world leaders
they face mounting protests from a world of seven billion people, unless they tackle inequality.Highlighting famine in east Africa, the Syria unrest and Wall Street protests, Ban said there's rising public anger and a loss of faith in governments and public institutions to do the right thing.
At a news conference to mark the UN declaration that the world population has reached seven billion, Ban said the world is one of terrible contradictions, with plenty of food, but one billion people go hungry, and
lavish lifestyles for a few but poverty for too many others.Ban says he will take his warning to the Group of 20 summit in France this week.
Not quite what I meant pansi....
The US election system relies almost exclusively on campaign donations (which I don't believe have to be declared), so in effect only the wealth, or friends of the wealthy can get into office.
Our system on the other hand uses government funding, which has to be justified (ala the Pauline Hanson incident), so anyone can be elected...
So it's no surprise or conspiracy that rich people fund certain politicians or parties.....It's just the way it's done.
But that very thing is what the Occupy protestors would have to change in order to correct any inequality...
