We should have taken bets (non pecuniary of course) on the All Ords at CoB. Wink  I'd say that tomorrow might be more indicative.

Tomorrow when the American market opens, ours will follow from the trend theirs is taking I should think. I wouldn't even hazard a guess, it's a weird world out there in share land.

ok close of business tomorrow for All Ords    4040 that's pretty low.

Being the pessimist that I am, I'll go for 3950 (all ords)

There was a great panic scene from Flying High that I woulda liked to have added. Couldn't find it, but it may have been it a bit saucy anyway ..from mammory.

Well, the scene is being set!

DOW Futures are down, around 280 a present and the main show doesn't start for about 8 hours yet.

A lot now depends on what happens in the US over night (OZ time).

We could awake to see blood flowing on Wall Street OR the US FED Reserve may yet come to the rescue with another "scheme", which will kick the can a little further down the road?

Either way, either now or a little later, there will be a lot of financial pain & if the consequences are not fairly spread across Business & high end income earners, then the consequences may well be a lot more dire, than is currently thought, even by TPTB!

muso do you think they will fall below 4000 today?

No. My guess will be that the All Ords will be around 4050 by COB today.

4055.8 at close.  Ok.  Cool

That seems to be days end.

Not quite end of days, but there does seem to be an emerging trend!

...
This chart also also seems to be a "real time" updater, as Muso said, providing you reload or refresh the scene.

Well, there has/is certainly been some games palyed?

At one point the Dow Future traded down some 320 points, it then recovered to be down "only", before commencing a relapse a couple of hours ago and it is now trading down in the 240-250 range.

Two large European banks Socgen and Unicredit are on the brink of collapse.... that's gotta hurt the markets.

The following chart & ticker on US DOW Futures seems to a little "more real time" than others.

It is worth looking at correlations in the movements between the OZ markets & the US DOW Futures, because we are generally folllowers.

http://www.forexpros.com/indices/dj-30-futures-advanced-chart

Well, that site seems to have packed it in, the following one may be of use for Futures markets, but it also has a range of other info, including -
1) Gold
2) Oil
3) Silver
4) A range of Commodities
5) Various other Futures - FTSE, DAC, CAC, NIKKEI

Have fun?

http://www.sgxniftydowfutureslive.com/index_files/DOWFUTURES.htm

Btw, DOW Futures currently down 264 & Glod is just over US$1,700

Well, I'm not sure about "another day another dollar...lost", I initially thought of Clint Eastwoods "a fistful of Dollars" and then settled on another Eastwood classic -
"The Good, the Bad & the Ugly"

We've had the Good, now we're having the Bad and the Ugly is still to come!

Btw, there was a large dip at the end of US DOW trading and the DOW actually finished down by 635 points.
http://au.finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=^DJI#symbol=^dji;range=1d;compare=;indicat...

In fact, the DOW fell 300 points in the last 40 minutes of trading and DOW Futures are already down, some 80 points in after hours trading contrinuing that trend and the OZ SPI200 is also down 150, which does not bode well for the local market today!.

Let's see what today holds for the all ords.

The overnight DOW may compensate for my pessimistic prediction, and I might just have a chance at beating Muso's 5.8 pt. prediction.

That's all that really matters to me right now  Grin
