But we don't have a problem with alcohol.. no no no.

Man dies as mates grab grog and drive off

April 24, 2011 3:40PM

A 31-year-old man has died at Maude, near Hay, in southwestern NSW, after he fell off the back of a ute.

Police say the man was seen getting into the back section of the vehicle with several others, outside a pub at Maude, about 12.20am today.

As the ute driver tried to turn from Maude Road into Nap Nap Road, some of the passengers travelling in the rear were apparently thrown onto the roadway.

The dead man, from Rochester in Victoria, struck his head on the road, suffering critical injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle and remaining passengers picked up cartons of alcohol which had fallen from the ute, placed them back in the rear, then drove off, leaving the injured man lying on the road.

A short time later, people travelling in another vehicle went to his assistance, however emergency services workers were unable to revive him.

Police want to question a group of people who were travelling in a white 2004-'06 Toyota 75 series Landcruiser ute, at the time of the man's death.

The vehicle has a single cab, with dog cages on the rear tray and a spotlight on the roof.

It is believed to have Victorian registration plates, QMK-277.

It might be travelling to, or within, Victoria.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The 31-year-old man's death followed a single car accident late last night at Old Bonalbo in the state's north.

A 53-year-old local man died after his car crashed into a tree.

Alcohol again! Pfft... and people worry about dope.

I swear... it should come in plain labels with health and social warnings and the taxes should be hiked to the hilt to discourage binge drinking.

I think you'll find that the cartons of beer were made of pulped holy qur'ans. That may explain their aberrant actions.

The ALP, the progressive party, the party of ideas, the workers' friend, is the only Australian political party to roast four young Australians in roof cavities. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

Sappho,

Actually all intoxicants are really detrimental to society, as they suspend peoples' good judgement, cannabis included.

I'm glad you asked. Islam has the solution for mankind to such problems.

Banning alcohol and just about anything else which is 'fun'?
So this happened in Hay? Has anyone thought that maybe these people might have been of Aboriginal ancestry?

Playing with matches is fun for kids, but it's not a good idea to let them do it, likewise with adults and alcohol (or other intoxicants).

Islam promotes a virtuous and enjoyable society, contrary to your belief, getting half plastered is not necessary for a good time. Our society has brought itself to that point, because it actually doesn't know how to have fun, so it needs to mix in intoxicants, to "produce" fun.

So if they're of Aboriginal ancestry, then they're not Aussies???

So being Australian has nothing to do with how long you've been here, it's about whether you're white and can trace your ancestry back to England?

No actually, by their own admission they call themselves Kooris and such and have a different flag. I didnt say anything about having to be white to be an Aussie, i said owing to the region where this occoured which has a population of Aboriginals and the nature of the incident i am merely SPECULATING that they were the culprits. Also note the article did not mention what race they were which is usually a good sign that the people in question were not white aussies.
