With each year passing...

The USA (Caine) grows jealous of OZ (Abel).

USA: created from the Pure, the Superior, the Chosen and the Best Of - all things Europe (via the UK/GB).
These people were 'so much better' - that they REJECTED the old world of Europe (UK) for North America ...the New World, the Better World, the 'Heavens Above'.

...now they are an over-populated nation of crime and despair. Poverty rules their nation, as their Economy fails once again, for want of getting ahead via cheating anyway. They are a nation ruled by fear and death.

Then you have OZ: where the 'worst' of Europe (UK/GB) were sent/are sent - the poor, the filth, the criminal, the worthless, the hopeless, the breeders, the unachievers, the Un-Wanted, etc...

...now they are one of the richest nations this side of Switzerland and have a living quality possibly better than that of Scandinavia (more room and better beaches for starters!). They are a nation of Achievers, Innovators and better movie actors!
