When politicians bring up religion, it's usually for political reasons. If you omit the "they are part of God's creation" it doesn't change the message. Human beings should be treated with respect.

I think you're being precious.

Rudd is implying that respect of human life is religious based, which it is not. The Australian government is secular so religious beliefs are not welcome.

Yes he does. He is using his christian beliefs to manipulate via media. Stephen Smith never sunk this low, matter of fact, I think Mr Smith was an excellent foreign minister.

The foreign ministry is not for the peddling of religious beliefs.

No .. I stand by what I've stated. You're seeing things which aren't there ( in your usual manner ).

You are merely interpolating on this occasion.

Did you know that chronic boredom tends to make us see things which aren't there Greens???

Food for thought.

Well why not lock another thread and start one with your own twist to protect your religious view. Don't hold back.

No, Stephen Smith's atheisim might have been as offensive (or more offensive) to 'christian' countries/governments as Kevin Rudd's christianity is to 'secular' countries/governments..

Stephen Smith is Roman Catholic, not an atheist.
