See how Murdoch tries to justify his obscene salary compared to Buffet's measily 100K per year salary Wink

Buffet is worth 45 bill on paper whilst Murdoch is worth 6 bill but his salary is way out of proportion. Buffet receives no dividends.

Actually I was the one who supported the pay increase because the workers got nothing the year before.

And thanks to Gillard that $26 got chewed up in our award modernisation process anyway.

I dont begrudge anyone on the minimum wage, someone has to do the work they do.

Just as a note on this.

Fat cat payouts from companies are matters for companies to decide. If they choose to give it, thats their business, more power to them.

When talking about minimum wage rises, its doesnt just affect the companies that pay the fat cats. Notably, those that have the fat cats all have their own workplace collective agreements anyway. Minimum wage increases usually have the greatest impact on the businesses least likely to afford them, being the small business operators.

There is a reason why many small operators are disappearing, the corners milk bar, the local mechanic. Competition is squeezing them out, and everytime there is wage increases it only plays into the hands of the big companies, as they are the ones in the best position to afford them.

Sometimes its not just as black and white as you make it out to be.
