So where's all those yahooligans from the finance boards that were going to turn up?

I'm here its a start,FD!

Perceptions g'day to U,one question though regarding the forum,is why do the posts run backwards?
The most recent post should be on the 1st page, saves the users searching back through 100's pages as we progress through the months, years?

FD,
A query raised by a new OzPolitics member (also Yahoo).

It seems like a good question, in fact on thinking about it, I would see that it would be better to have newest go first, because the newer ones are what you generally respond to!

Your thoughts? Can it be done? Would it be better?

It can probably be done. I doubt it would be better.

By default, it opens to the most recent message. There is a way of reversing it in Yabb(a check box), but I agree that it's better as it is.

Say what?

If I open a post such as, "No Excuses For Years Of Cuts To Social Spending", it opens at page 1, which is the oldest post, not page 13, which has the recent ones, but all the pages have the oldest at page top and the most recent at page bottom.

That's not what I would call opening to the most recent message.

The sunlight breaks thru?
Unless, are you referring to the main page for each major subject, such as Politicians Suck, where the most recent post comes in at the top of that page?

If you are referring to that, then I agree, that is emminently sensible and that is what Lerche is saying should also apply to each thread, with the most recent post on each thread appearing at the top of page one and then in desending order from there.

And, I have to say, I hadn't thought of it before Lerche raised it, but it makes sense to have the most recent post on top, on the major subject page and for the same reasoning it makes sense to have the most recent post register first, on each thread!

FD, Muso & others, are we all on the same page (pun intended) now?

Thoughts please.

If you click on the subject from the main page it takes you to the last page. Or you can click on the last number.

I justy had a look on YaBB and it does not appear to be a standard feature.

Is "ignore" a feature of YaBB?

The ability to ignore all posts by a particular member would be very handy.

Politicians and Nappies need to be changed often and for the same reason.

One trouble with political jokes is that they often get elected.
