Probably the most "perfect" pop song ever made, and the only song worth listening to from this band.

yes, it is funny hearing people's diverse musical tastes.

I was at my bros a coupla weeks ago and he had some classical crap on, which made me think of some of the thrash/metal bands, really hard to play, but sounds like utter shite.
I hate pretentious crap, music just triggers a response in me, and I could never fake that, by pretending to like stuff I don't.

This one has always been a fave of mine too, as I was having my second last great romance before my wife when this came out, ahh juliette, mozza and juliette, how romantic, lol.
First date I asked if she liked coke, and she pulled a silver straw on a chain out from under her blouse, and proceeded to make like a hoover, then saw Patti Smith, then back to hers (in Clapham, hence my associating this song with her)for a night to remember.
Youth was freakin awesome, and all the poor bastards playing it straight had my deepest sympathies.

Never heard that before, that singer has super smacked out eyes, so he is probably dead by now, still, nice voice, and the song reminded me of Cat Stevens' Sad Lisa song, in it's subject matter.
No love songs written for the poor Mozzas of the world, lol.

Here is something from this century that makes me optimistic, young guys writing cool lyrics, making fun of the pretentious druggie rockstar lifestyle.(listen to the first verse)
Quote:
“I’m feeling rough, I’m feeling raw, I’m in the prime of my life / Let’s make some music, make some money, find some models for wives / I’ll move to Paris, shoot some heroin and bugger with the stars / You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars”

The Clap

We got the clap
You got the clap
We cook the rocks
You took the smack
Oh yeah

We got the clap
You got the clap
We took the yellow ones
You took the black
Ohho

We got the itch
You got the scratch
Burns burns burns like the head of a match
You took the front
I'll take the back
Oh Yeah

We got the clap
We got it

We got the clap
You got the clap
Rock my face
Saw the world collapse
Ohho

We got the junk
You got the junk
[ Find more Lyrics on http://mp3lyrics.org/zOoN ]
Shake shake shake
Taste the spunk
Ohho, I said the spunk

We got the clap
can't be beat
Got it off the back of a toilet seat
Shake your hips
Mind your feet
Oh yeah

We got the clap
We got the clap
We got it

[Instrumental]

We got the itch
You got the scratch
Burns burns burns like the head of a match
You took the front
We took the back
Oh yeah

Catch my drift
Catch that too
Caught it off a buck-tooth prostitute
You took the front
I took the back

We got the clap
(we got the clap, can't be beat)
I got the clap
(got it off the back of a toilet seat
You got the clap
(shake your hips, mind your feet)
Oh yeah

We got the clap
You got the clap
We got the clap!

---------

Like I said .. cringeworthy lyrics .. all the songs Russell Brand sang in that movie had me on the floor!!!

lmao, that is very funny, thanks for sharing it, I must get to the flicks without a nine year old in tow at some stage, I have seen Toy Story3D, and Shrek3D over the last two weeks of school hols, I need some grown up time badly.
Today we went to see Mary Poppins at the theatre, and I was surprised that it was actually pretty good, and my daughter and wife absolutely loved it.
Mat Lee, that little judge off So you think you can dance was the star of the show, and was actually very good, it had a lot of great dancing, and some good singing, plus Judy Conelli with her amazing singing, doing one song, but even though it was good, I still am yearning for some solitary adult time, it seems forever since I have done anything just because I wanted to do it.

Probably one of the best covers of a Harrison song I've heard...
