I don't think there are that many hummers at outdoor rock concerts.

I think it is poor taste to laugh at someone who may have hurt themselves.

"so you're saying that obesity is being caused by the fact that people are eating too much unhealthy sh*t, which is raising the cost of unhealthy shi*t?"

that's pretty much it in a nutshell. Plus the fact that the general education level about this stuff is pretty low in the community. Primarily, people learn their nutritional practices from their families, so if that happens to be bad news, and nothing is done to break that cycle, those peoples' kids will probably do the same thing and on it goes; and all the time the manufacturers are packing more sugar into everything they can think of. It's causing a lot of the major disease problems around.
A lot of people are starting to wake up to this, especially with the info on the internet being available, but in my observation it is generally much older people doing that, maybe because they have more time on their hands, or they are forced to make changes because of the health problems they have to deal with, or whatever.
Younger and middle aged people are the ones who it is in the interests of the manufacturers to target, in my opinion, because they seem to not question these things much. god help us in this consumer society. the medicine companies are making a fortune as well out of this tragedy.

Of course it is, and worse than that not to offer assistance.
i am seeing this sort of trend, more than a trend really in this country, and it disgusts me. People are standing around taking photos of serious car accidents so they can be the first to put it on you tube or something.
This is crazy. Who was it that said "evil is simply the lack of empathy" or words to that affect - oh yeah, it was one of the prosecutors at the Nuremberg trials.
i really despair at this country sometimes. Very comfy, plenty of everything and a lot less empathy every year it seems.
Not good.

these problems cause imbalances in the body as well, so even if you change the diet there might be other things you have to redress.
As you get older, you tend to get high acidity levels in your body apparently (kids have the lowest levels apparently). If your diet is causing even more acidity that is going to impact in some way when you're not very old, especially through obesity.
There is some fascinating stuff out there on the net about all this.

Three, there's a really good show on American ABC (I think) called What Would You Do?

They set up scenarios in public places - things like a man abusing his wife in a park, a woman about to drive under the influence with her kids in the car - to see how many people step in or ignore the situation.

Here's a link if you want to take a look - it's very interesting.

Did you used to trust reality tv?

yes, i for one have seen a bit of that. America is quite a different place to Australia though, there is a gun culture there and a system which heavily alienates people far more than in Australia, I feel. Americans would feel, I think, much more reluctant to step in to situations like that than Australians, but we are getting there in this country. The drugs that are around now that people seemingly can afford to buy which cook their brains and make them totally unpredictable is scary. Australian society is pretty much on the road to getting out of control with this sort of stuff. Drug lords and importers must see this place as a really good place to get into with the amount of disposable money people seem to have and the relative lack of community understanding about the dangers.
You only have one body, you only get it once.

I thought that any genre of television that would put somebody as obnoxious as Sara-Marie Fedele on one of its programs couldn't be anything other than authentic.

I sometimes wonder if 'Obese' people should be banned from Restaurants and Food Halls, like Drunk people are banned from Pubs ?
Wink
I sometimes wonder if 'Obese' people are the way they are due to the 'increase' in Cooking/Food shows upon Television?

I doubt it. From what I've seen, most of those shows feature pretty healthy cooking. Certainly healthier than most fast food.
