What a patriot, abandoning the country she claimed to be such an ardent believer in. Guess she's finally taken her own advice to "Go back to your own country", making it quite clear she never was quite as patriotic as she claimed.

If she's going there to flee from [non-white] immigrants, then she's in for a rude shock I think.

Pauline Hanson leaving Australia for new life in UK

ANTI-immigration mouthpiece Pauline Hanson is packing up her bags and emigrating.

She is departing for a new life in the UK, claiming that Australia is no longer the land of opportunity.

The former One Nation leader has told Woman's Day magazine she is selling her Queensland home.

"I'm going to be away indefinitely," Ms Hanson said.

"It's pretty much goodbye forever. I've really had enough. I want peace in my life. I want contentment, and that's what I'm aiming for.

"I will miss my children and close friends most of all."

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Personally, I will miss her . I thought she represented her constituency perfectly: stupid constituency, stupid representative .

But I suspect I shan't be grieving too long. She'll be back before christmas, no doubt.

I was a bit surprised. I would have expected someone like her to stand her ground and fight until the bitter end. Although, it could be that "the bitter end" was a few years ago. The BNP is rising in popularity at the moment so I think she might be more welcome there than a few of you might think.

Popularity for parties like hers is actually exploding in Europe, with Belgium, Switzerland, and Austria leading the pack. The BNP trail behind the rest and unfortunately may generate support more slowly due to an extremely well publicized shady past, but there is little doubt that their numbers will rise.

Though this isn't to say that I'll miss her. She was neither particularly very inspiring nor intelligent. The last thing a budding Nationalist movement needs is a leadership that resembles (in character, not in views) its potential voting base. People like Pauline are the sort of foot-soldiers that you want to attract to your ranks, not run them. You need a Jared Taylor for that.

No wonder. Imagine being Pauline Hanson in the local supermarket.

She's a celebrity, but she doesn't have the security of a celebrity. There are a lot of nutcases out there.

I guess she'll be draping the Union Jack around her now.
