Here's one for the White Supremos.

Ancient site reveals signs of mass cannibalism

By Victoria Gill
Science reporter, BBC News

...
The site contains remains of 500 "intentionally mutilated" humans

Archaeologists have found evidence of mass cannibalism at a 7,000-year-old human burial site in south-west Germany, the journal Antiquity reports.

The authors say their findings provide rare evidence of cannibalism in Europe's early Neolithic period.

Up to 500 human remains unearthed near the village of Herxheim may have been cannibalised.

The "intentionally mutilated" remains included children and even unborn babies, the researchers say.

The German site was first excavated in 1996 and then explored again between 2005 and 2008.

Team leader Bruno Boulestin, from the University of Bordeaux in France, told BBC News that he and his colleagues had found evidence the human bones were deliberately cut and broken - an indication of cannibalism.

"We see patterns on the bones of animals indicating that they have been spit-roasted," he said. "We have seen some of these same patterns on the human bones [at this site]."

But Dr Boulestin stressed it was difficult to prove that these bones had been deliberately cooked.

Some scientists have rejected the cannibalism theory, suggesting that the removal of flesh could have been part of a burial ritual.

But Dr Boulestin said the human remains had been "intentionally mutilated" and that there was evidence many of them had been chewed.

The early Neolithic was the period when farming first spread in central Europe and the team believes that cannibalism in Europe was likely to have been exceptional - possibly carried out during periods of famine.

Interesting post Abu, and it contains a point worth consideration by modern man, when he advocates the instigation of processes which will have consequences for tens, and sometimes, hundreds, of millenia to come.

Just seven millenia ago, we were pretty brutish creatures, living as best we could in a harsh environment, and that cannibalism should sometimes be part of some groups, should be of no great surprise to any one.

We do know that less than 200 years ago, right here where we live, the aboriginal people would commit ritual cannibalism, by eating the flesh of a defeated enemy.
They would raid other tribes for women, if they needed to, and sometimes they would eat the flesh of fallen members of the other tribe, for these aboriginals had lived seperate from other cultures since before the time of the people cited in the article, and still lived in a way that we can imagine was very similiar to that of our barbarian forefathers.

So we cannot apply our modern western morality to these types of discoveries, and cluck away about the right or wrong of it, we can just accept it for what it was, the norm of the time.

Mozza, keep in mind that at that time, places like Iraq and the Arabian peninsula had relatively advanced civilisations. Living in cities, farming, making fine pottery and the like. And that this 'gap' remained for thousands of years. It is only in the last millenia that the northern Europeans have really done anything beyond primitive, when the Middle Easterners began disseminating technology towards them. Prior to the arrival of Islam for instance, northern Europe was a complete technological backwater. Even the Romans or Greeks, who were much closer to Middle Eastern anyway, didn't bother passing any technology on to them. When Islam arrived on the world stage, suddenly all the great technologies of the world became industrialised, commercialised and passed on to other cultures. For instance, paper making was turned into an industry under the Islamic Warraqeen (paper merchants). The world's first paper mills were constructed, and the knowledge of how to make paper was transferred to Europe by the southern European Muslims of Sicily and the Iberian Peninsula, although the Catholic church banned it's use for centuries thereafter because it was an "Evil Saracen invention", and even up till the 17th. century Europe was still largely dependant upon the Islamic civilisation for most of its paper.

Holy Crap, literally.
I thought that perhaps you may have had a historical bent, and like myself, enjoyed history for it's own sake, and not view it as just a way to engender even more religious propaganda, in this instance, of a most fanciful nature.

The fact that you need to try and legitimise so many false claims of Islamic superiority, has the whiff of the desperate about it, a desperation borne of a deep seated insecurity which can never be placated by claims of past glories, either real, or manufactured.

The security you desire will only eventuate if Islam drags itself out of it's regressive mindset, and once more engages with a modern world, in a mature and meaningful way, rather than like a petualnt toddler continually throwing tantrums when it does not always get what it wants, for like a toddler, often what it wants most, is not what is actually good for it.

My point was that you claimed it was the norm of the time. No it wasn't. It was the norm for primitive people only. Large parts of the rest of the world were behaving fairly civilised. And the only reason such people ever became civilised was because of the kindness shown to them by the Islamic civilisation. If not for that kindness, Europe would still be a seething mess of primitive cannibals, probably still duking it out with the crusaders who tried to tame them.

Don't you love when Abu Rashid finds something like this and exuberantly rushes to this forum to post a topic about it with the words "HAHAHA I GOT WHITE PEOPLE I GOT THEM" running through his head?

Yet at the same time pretends that he isn't some pathetic emasculated self-hating white; if you take away his Islam all he is is just some enormous vaginal liberal. Go cry to yourself some more about the past injustices committed by this people and keep wishing upon a star that your skin will someday be transformed brown upon emergence from your slumbers, you wuss.

Well I certainly do not see Abu as self hating, or anti-white.
I do feel he has become fixated on the wrongs that previous generations have committed, and I mostly agree with him when he defines what those wrongs were.
The unfortunate area he falls down in, is not applying the same critical eye on past, or even present, misdeeds emanating from Islamic quarters, which leads people to dismiss his ideas as prejudiced, which is only true when applied to his lack of criticism of Islam, for most of his attacks on western follys and misdeeds are pretty fair, because we have seen terrible actions from western powers in our lifetimes, and the century or so preceding them, and it is up to us to try and stop them repeating their mistakes, so it is good to acknowledge them.

As I've said enough times mozza, Islam already has way too many critics. Just trying to even things up a little.

Then you're failing. All you're serving to do with your attitude is create further divide, hatred, suspicion and intolerance of Islam.

Abu, you see and read things as you like.
Just the other day a Vietnamese guy was complaining to me about not being able to make money on the share market.
I simply said, "Fluctuations" and he replied to me, "Fluck you too round eye!".
