You're obviously having a bad week, Sprint.  I can tell because your posts have been getting more extreme. We all have our dummy spits, but it's a bit of a concern when you start to censor free speech though. We need to have different views on here, even if we disagree with them.

I agree with you muso.

Where would i be, on OzPol, without the right to express my own 'way out there' views!!     Grin

I'm sure that i would not get much of an opportunity to voice my views on Muslim Village for example.

But the TRUTH of that fact, is what condemns such sites, which promote themselves as forums for debate.
....where a person can say ANYTHING they like, so long as what they say, does not offend moslem sensibilities.

/sarc off

Free and open debate is, 'a contest of ideas'.

But how can we have a contest of ideas, where free and open debate is suppressed?

If we gag those who disagree with us, or those who offend us, what sort of debate do we support?

A forum where only a dictatorship of 'authorised' views is permitted ?

Yadda most Islamic sites are not venues of debate, but rather places for Muslims to meet and greet in an Islamic environment. If you compromise that Islamic environment then of course you'd be ejected. Same with the Islamic forum here on OzPol. If you breach the rules, then you'd be ejected. It's not about stifling any contest of ideas. Ideas are welcome in the Islamic forum, so long as you present them within the guidelines.

Do you mean inquiry?? Or abuse and slander?

If the former, then I'm sure it's welcomed, and it's welcome in the Islamic forum here. If the latter, no thanks.

Unlike your banning, which is obviously about petty revenge.

There's the rub. The "guidelines" are: don't question Islam - The Koran or Mohammed. Otherwise say whatever you like.

And these 'guidelines' apply to non-Muslims in every country.

You abuse and slander the west, Israel and the US in particular, at every possible turn. But of course you do not see yourself as a slanderer and an abuser.

I agree with all of the above.

Get a grip sprint, do you not appreciate that muslims reacting to honest queries, which are presented sometimes, with obfuscation and deceit, is only lessening whatever credibility Islam may have had with people unfamiliar with it?
Hoisted by their own petard, so to speak.

Now by you replying in kind, you merely reinforce the belief of anti-theists such as myself that the differences between religions, is far less than their similiarities, and an intolerance for the views of others is a similiarity that you seek to claim christianity does not share with Islam, but your intended actions here would suggest otherwise.

Abu often poses some very thoughtful and interesting views, and if he were not constricted in what he was allowed to believe, by subverting his own beliefs in favour of dogmatic teachings, then he would most likely be a very open and sanguine fellow.

sprint,

Personally, I would prefer threads that you do not want in Spirituality to be moved to other boards, rather than be deleted.

lol, funny cartoon soren.

It highlights a point that helian often makes, about the politicall nature of religions, and mohammed seems to have most definitely been a politician, lol.

"How can you tell when a politician's lying?", comes to mind.

soren,

ISLAM expresses a duality of 'position', on many, many subjects.

But moslems only ever expresses one point of view in the 'now' instant.

The point of view, which is presented 'now', expresses the point of view appropriate to the circumstances of the immediate occasion.
...i.e. whatever is more advantageous to moslems / ISLAM.

One prominent example of how ISLAM is 'a religion for all seasons', with a duality of views,

'Tolerant' ISLAM declares [to unbelievers to strong to presently subdue],

"Let there be no compulsion in religion......."

Koran 2:256

Whereas, 'devout' ISLAM declares  [to all, where it is unassailably 'empowered'],

"If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him;...."

Koran 3.85

Further,

Cognitive dissonance
Cognitive dissonance is a psychological term to define the condition that results whenever an individual attempts to hold two incompatible, if not contradictory, thoughts at the same time even in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance

Dictionary,
cognitive dissonance = = Psychology the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes.

The Reality of Cognitive Dissonance among Muslim Apologists
By  Syed M. Islam
".....Having mingled with several Islamists and seeking to learn from their arguments with empathy and interpersonal respect, it is my opinion that, among many of them, cognitive dissonance is a reverberating reality. My opinion is based upon first-hand evidence gathered over two years. The evidence confirms a dangerous and disturbing dig of denial among many Muslim apologists."
