Less Tolerance, More Shooting

Facebook????

How many of you guys are on facebook? What do you think? Do you add cyber friends.

I never understood my wife logging on every night to see what's been happening, after creating a profile I slowly began to understand the attraction.
I found some old friends on there and had the chance to catch up. People from grade school right up to mates from the the silly decision making of teenage years. Alot of us seemed destined for drugs and jail when we were young, god knows I was there for a while.
Catching up with those old friends and seeing how many got through the tough times and went on to do well really opened my eyes to the potential inside everyone, even the ones who you are certain will end up as the dregs of society.

I hope I can retain this insight when my child comes home stoned off his face and vomiting all over himself, I pray that he doesn't learn lifes toughest lessons the way I did.

I use Facebook to keep track of my kids & other young relatives so I know they're still alive. It's handy for that & you can get a message through quickly if you have to.

It's a great irony, I guess... Hoping our kids don't do what we did that got us to where we are... Even if, in the end, we got over the line, 'if only we could go back knowing then what we know now', we'd probably do a lot of things differently. Because 'youth is wasted on the young' so they say... But, who knows, if we went back knowing what we know now, we might just find other ways of screwing up the bits we didn't know were screwable on the first run or thought we'd get right second time around.

Ground Hog Day'... Just how many shots did Bill Murray get before he 'transcended his karma'?

Very eloquently put Helian, but no matter how many warnings we give our children about potential dangers and what they should or shouldn't do - they still follow in the footsteps of their parents in their youth. Genes set our destiny and theirs.
