helian, why did you lie?

Did I lie little Tallow?

Go and read the comments Darwin made about the effect of European civilisation on Australia. He recognised that the land would not sustain the clearing and deforestation for grazing. As he arrived in Summer he witnessed first hand what these practices exacerbated by lack of rainfall and tapping the meagre river systems would do to the land.

I read it and the question remains.

What did you read, little fella?

I read your lie, big dickhead.

What did you think of his comments about creating canals to irrigate farms and pasture? What about his belief in the extinction of Australian fauna through European activity from hunting and destruction of habitat? What about his warning that Australia could not sustain expansion of agriculture?

Don't you want to apologise to be rude first?

So what did you "think" of Darwin's comments?

What about Dame Nellie Melba's somewhat embarrassing plea to Europeans to donate money to help starving animals she saw out of her carriage window during a tour of rural Australia in the middle of a severe drought? Bit like the old Kaiser in Palestine, I reckon.

I think Darwin's comments are timely for his time...  if not somewhat exaggerated at the time and limited.

No you're not. What you want is to walk away from this thread with a sense of righteous indignation. Don't you think your hare-brained ideas about camel sh!t and assertions that Muslims are somehow more destructive on the environment than any other peoples are offensive? You spout any crap you like under your "free speech" platform then get offended when someone refers to you using a diminutive, to which you respond by calling me a big dickhead. If you're offended by that, you're too soft for life.

Could be. He did arrive in Australia in a depressed state and had visions of Australia being a lush and fertile continent. The aridity and barrenness of the rural areas he saw in the height of Summer shocked him.

yes I am because you need to be disciplined to make it worthwhile to discuss anything with you. So choice is yours.

It is obvious that you don't understand difference between disciplined thinking and prohibition of free thought just as you don't understand that Australia is not in the Middle East.

Oh I understand the need for constraints on free speech just as easily as I recognise petulance and self pity.

But you obviously don't know how to exesise the constraints when your own speech is concerned but I don't think that you are hypocritical for reasons that I stated above.

That's restraint, fella... exercise restraint. Perhaps you should consider the mechanics of constraint yourself when you get the itch to make another hare-brained post.

My role is to discipline you pal so I use your own words to awaken yourself.
Now tell me, is Australia in the Middle East or not?
