Are there rules in Islam for beards or personal grooming?

I'd tell you, but you'd probably just accuse me of lying, if I didn't provide you with the answer you sought...

Why don't you tell me which answer you want to hear, so we can save the hostilities?

I've heard Muslims have to remove underarm and pubic hair.

I am from a foreign government. This is not a joke. I am authorised to investigate state and federal bodies including ASIO.

If you can promise not to falsely accuse me of being a liar if I don't give the answer you sought?

as far as I've been told beards are recommended as part of the sunnah but there's debate over whether they're required- is that right abu?

as to removing certain body hair- it's for hygenic reasons. I don't know if it's merely encouraged or what

Spot on Gaybriel.

Partially right.

Removing of this hair, along with nail clipping and circumcision are considered to be part of the 'fitrah' the natural religion that was from Abraham (pbuh). It's also called tahoor which means purity/cleanliness, so yes there's obviously some hygienic aspect to it.

So most devout Muslim men shave their armpits but grow their beards, because it's what Muhammed did?

What he did, and what he advised us to do.

I have great beard and mustachios as well to keep bloody flies out of my mouth when yapping. This is a common sense in a warm humid climate, which has nothing to do with a religion and lots of other country people have beards too like Aussie pioneers had.

BTW, do you know that in old Scandinavian common law inability of bear growing was a legal reason for a woman to apply for divorce as well as a husband wearing women's closing?
Also, one of the "racial" characteristics of Asian and Arab men is their poor facial hair in comparison to Hebrews or Australian aboriginals beards.

Since Arabs and Hebrews are pretty much the same race, that sounds a bit suspicious.

I think you mixed "racial" (physical appearance) with linguistic (same language group) proprieties.

Nope genetic tests have shown that Arabs and Jews are very similarly genetically.

Also, come on, Arabs are known to be quite hairy. What a joke, light facial hair???
