saudi cleric discusses dangers of freedom !!
Oct 1st, 2008 at 10:13pm

this is classic

"....... the problem is that they want to open a debate on whether islam is true or not and on whetehr judaisnm or christianity are false or not.
In other words, they want to open up everythign up for debate.
Now they want to open up all issues for debate. Thats it.
It begins with freedom of thought, it continues with freedom of thought and it ends up with freedom of belief...."

Well you'd better petition freediver, I don't have the authority to take my own moderation powers.

Or perhaps, as I suspect, you're just happy playing the poor hard done-by censored beacon of hope for the free world  Grin

I didn't watch the video, but is he criticising freedom of thought because it risks freedom of belief?

In all Sharia jurisdictions, any expression of  'unbelief'  is not tolerated.

To  debate  the merits, or not, of ISLAM smacks too much, of a whiff of criticism,
....of ISLAM.

If ISLAM is perfect, and it is [according to devout muslims],
....then what is there to argue????

ISLAM is perfect!!!

And to question ISLAM, is regarded as an 'insult' to ISLAM.

And as ya know, ISLAM is Allah's perfect religion.
.....and the consequences, for 'insulting' Allah's 'perfect' ISLAM ,in a Sharia jurisdiction?
.....[often it is] death.

+++++++++

The words within the Koran, are [regarded by muslims as] the literal words of Allah.

And here he speaks.....

"......This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."

Here is an interesting directive in the Koran, from Allah, to all muslims,
DO NOT ASK TOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!....

"O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble.....
Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith."

http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/005.qmt.html#005.101
v. 101 & 102

So, just obey the clerics folks!

Coz, don't ya know????

.....IGNORANCE IS BLISS.

Shocked

Can someone please confirm for us whether this is a genuine quote from the Koran?

Hi FD,

If you follow the link given, it is to a site at a Uni in California which hosts ISLAMIC texts for the USA MSA [Muslim Students Association of the USA].

But check it out yourself, by all means.

But, that quote is valid.
