An example of a woman who stood up and died for what she believed in and made a positive difference to individuals and the community. She died for exposing 'wrong' and pursuing 'right'..........a brave and honorable person.

Maybe not..............a lot of people don't. Or maybe she did know when she should have quit but had a sense of commitment, belief and responsability.

A wonderful brave woman.
She will leave a legacy that will make Ireland an even safer better country.

Others should follow her selflessness and bravery.

I dare you to stand up on ANZAC day and say that.

The change that such people can bring is hard to attribute directly to them, but they can bring a major psychological shift, that leads others to finally stand up to their oppressors. It creates a focal point for community rage and frustration. It creates new leaders willing to tackle the problem head on. Those 200 new petty crims will have nothing on the 100 experienced ones that are locked up and will not have the oprganisational skill to intimidate and bribe the politicians and police in order to prevent a further crackdown.

If everyone thought like you DR9, we would all be living under tinpot dictators.

But there are things worth fighting for, killing for, and dying for. Your children, your friends and family, freedom from tyranny.

People often show an instinctive impulse to help a stranger or try to rescue someone even at the risk to their own lives. IF there is a chance they can help.

But when someone follows through deliberately, and protractedly on a mission that puts themselves at risk for others, that takes courage. It is the terrible sacrifice that fills the fields of France and other places. So while her reasons may not seem sufficient to you, they were for her.

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing . Edmund Burke, I think.
