Me too policies
Nov 2nd, 2007 at 3:21pm

The things journos say in stories to make stories for news often annoy me. Politicians are clearly enjoying the same thing to drum up interest in them.

At the moment there is a big thing about Libs putting out a policy and ALP copying them and vice versa. Both sides are b*tch*ng about eachother doing it.

But what happened to a few weeks ago, when Libs put out a policy, and said haha ALP I'd like to see you match that? Well duh isn't bringing out the same/similar policy doing just that - matching them?

And one side or both has complained about the opposite party bringing out a similar or better policy just because they did it first, as though they should stick to their less good policies.

Well isn't that the point of having a democracy, or competition in politics. We the people get the benefits of the competition by pitting the sides against each other until we get the best deal?

What is the problem here?

It is a weird situation.
I agree, anyone should change their policy for whatever is better.
Given that, I'ld guess most policies would tend to be similar.  ie, whatever is the best idea is the best one.

As ALP are so similar to Libs, why risk it and change ?

Its gotten rediculous on both sides mmadeline,

But we do need a change and I think the polls tell the story that this Government is out of touch and arrogant .

Even tho' they look pretty "me too" there are a few fundamental differences. Important ones.

That was the second time you have ignored the question.

And modified your own posting this time. Obviously saw the flaw in your original one

Are you being subjected to the Mel/Oceans harassment too Sprint?  Shocked

Posts something silly, gets pulled up on it, changes her post and then PM's an abusive message? It's her typical MO  Roll Eyes

IQ, no she has not abused me in PMs.

still not offered any "fundamental differences", though.
